Description

The Director of Product - Property and Liability is looking for a collaborative, data-driven leader to join our Product Management team and shape the future of our Property and Liability product under a Businessowner's program. The product is sold via BiBerk, which has both direct to consumer and traditional wholesaler agency offerings. The product focuses primarily on online quote and bind with some traditional referrals for larger or higher hazard risks. This role offers the chance to lead product development from concept to launch, influence underwriting strategy, and work cross-functionally across actuarial, marketing, legal, and IT.

Job Responsibilities

  • Leads the development of new insurance products, including underwriting guidelines, from concept to launch.
  • Manages existing and new products to ensure production and profitability targets are met.
  • Key stakeholder in driving rate and pricing decisions. Drives collaboration with actuarial, distribution and production underwriting to create and enhance rating algorithms.
  • Functions as the ultimate referral underwriter by providing guidance and thought leadership to production underwriting at the single risk level and at the portfolio level.
  • Manages the end-to-end product development lifecycle, ensuring milestones are met on time.
  • Defines and prioritizes insurance product requirements, focusing on customer-centric solutions
  • Coordinates cross functional teams, including underwriting, distribution, actuarial, legal and IT to ensure seamless product delivery.
  • Owns competitor intelligence strategy and conducts market intelligence.
  • Presents product road maps, performance, and strategies to senior management
  • Collaborate with risk-based AI team to implement Underwriting Guidelines via our proprietary artificial intelligence software
  • Manage and develop a small product team

Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, along with interpersonal and influencing skills
  • Self-directed and self-motivated with demonstrated strength in planning, organizing, and driving seamless product delivery.
  • Proficient with MS Office; Proficient with reporting tools like PowerBI.
  • Self-starter, capable of learning new skills and technologies in a rapidly changing environment.
  • Capability to work independently and within a team/group environment.
  • Excellent computer skills - Microsoft Office Suite with Intermediate or higher level of Microsoft Excel experience, Word and Outlook.
  • Visual Basic Knowledge is a plus


Education and Experience Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree is required
  • Minimum 8 years of Commercial Property and/or Liability Product Insurance experience

In accordance with pay transparency laws and regulations, the following good faith compensation range estimate is being provided. The salary range for this position is $130,000 - $230,000 per year. Final compensation will be based on candidate qualifications, geographic location, and other considerations permitted by law.
