Summary of Position:Under the direct supervision of the Chief Operations Officer (COO), this position is responsible for maintaining a high level of pharmacy services to patients of Kintegra Health and the overseeing of pharmacy personnel including pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, and clerks; maintains familiarity with rules and regulations both at the state and federal level in order to ensure compliance; obtains and maintains familiarity with all policies, procedures pertaining to the practice of pharmacy; maintain a learning relationship with IT department in order to obtain and retain knowledge of the functionality of equipment both mechanical and electronic used in the pharmacy setting; orients and trains pharmacy personnel on processes and procedures used on a daily basis; acts as liaison between Kintegra Health and bulk replacement program administrators and Gaston County Health Department staff and administrators; acts as advisor to the medication assistance program (MAP) office; maintain an accounts receivable program to ensure accurate and timely billing of prescription relief agencies; act as point person for Kintegra Health in the implementation and periodic updating of the 340b Prime Vendor Program policies and procedures; provide training to Medical and clerical staff to assure knowledge of the 340b Prime Vendor program; provide services as a trained pharmacist to the pharmacy staff and medical staff as requested or required; constantly seeking pharmacy program and services opportunities in an effort to expand access to essential medications; travel to outlying clinics to offer advisory oversight and training to both pharmacy and clinical staff.
Minimum Qualifications:The following qualifications are the minimum necessary to adequately perform this job.
Ability to read and understand the English language

Ensuring that employees perform tasks in accordance with corporate policies, industry practices and safety rules
Ability to effectively maintain confidentiality of records and communicate with all levels of personnel
Experience: 3 years of pharmacy managerial experience is required.
Additional skills required: Knowledge of medical office software for the following: updating patient demographic information, posting charges and payments. Requires excellent verbal communication skills. Must be able to work with changing and priorities. Requires excellent organizational, problem solving and critical thinking skills. Must be able to interact with individuals of all cultures and levels of authority. Requires the ability to maintain patient and company confidentiality. Must be able to function as part of a team. Must possess initiative.
Additional skills preferred: Proficient in use of all computer software utilized in practice including an electronic medical record (EMR)
Education: Bachelor of Science (BS) or Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree from an accredited college of pharmacy.
Certification(s)/Licensure : Active NC Board of Pharmacy License
Key Responsibilities: - Selects, orientates, coaches, supervises, instructs and dismisses departmental personnel
- Supervises departmental personnel including: hiring, orientation, determining workload and delegating assignments, training, monitoring, scheduling and evaluating performance, and initiative corrective and disciplinary actions.
- Prepares and dispenses medicines, chemicals and pharmaceutical preparations according to written orders by authorized medical practitioners with clinical privileges.
- Reviews and revises Policy and Procedure manual annually and as needed
- Delegate responsibilities effectively.
- Coordinates and supervises department operation.
- Develops and maintains pharmacy services in accordance with State and Federal regulations, accepted standards, professional practices and hospital policies.
- Initiates and implements Quality Improvement for the department.
- Creates and maintains job description and completes annual performance reviews on all employees in a timely manner.
- Responsible for the planning, supervision, coordination and successful execution of all activities related to the pharmacy's operations.
- Utilize PMG System effectively for income and eligibility verification
- Utilize EMR System effectively for patient information and communication with provider staff
- Assist with the training and set up of new pharmacies.
- Provide guidance to senior management as it relates to the strategic direction on running, managing and growing a pharmacy in an FQHC environment.
- Keep abreast of latest developments in pharmacy in the industry to assess its application to the Kintegra Health infrastructure.
