Full Job Description
General Purpose:

As the Director of People Services, you will plan and implement policies relating to all phases of human resources activities including recruitment, selection, training and development, compensation and benefits administration, wage and hour issues, and employee safety. The Director of People Services will help ensure our people strategy keeps pace with an ambitious, high-performing operation by attracting exceptional talent, developing strong leaders, strengthening engagement and creating an environment where team members can do their best work.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the People Services Charge: Oversee the day-to-day operations of the People Services operation by ensuring we continue to attract, develop, and retain the best talent in the industry.
  • Shape our Strategic Future: Participate in shaping the future of our company by providing strategic planning and support, including staffing and training initiatives that will keep us at the forefront of the hospitality industry.
  • Build Leaders and Develop Talent: Strengthen leadership capability throughout the organization through coaching, development, succession planning and thoughtful talent management. Help identify and prepare our next generation of leaders while creating opportunities for team members to grow.
  • Maintain Compliance with Confidence: Stay up-to-date on the latest government regulations and record-keeping requirements while ensuring that our team feels supported and valued.
  • Be a Payroll Pro: Manage our bi-weekly payroll processes with precision and accuracy.
  • Maximize Performance: Oversee our performance management system, ensuring that performance evaluations are conducted in a timely manner and that our talent management system is effectively identifying and developing our top performers.
  • Recruit with Passion: Play an integral role in attracting top talent to our organization, utilizing and updating our applicant tracking system, coordinating competency-based interviews, and analyzing data to make recommendations that will help us continue to grow and evolve.
  • Coach for Success: Support our team members by providing coaching, counseling, and disciplinary actions when necessary, while also administering associate benefits and open enrollment to help our team members feel valued and supported.
  • Manage Leaves with Compassion: Administer FMLA/LOA functions with compassion and empathy, ensuring our team members feel supported during times of need.
Qualifications

The ideal candidate will be:

  • A college graduate, preferably with a Bachelor’s Degree preferred in Business Administration, Human Resources, Communications, or related field. PHR or SPHR Certification preferred.
  • Experienced with 5 -7 years of professional experience in People Services, including 2 years supervising and managing staff in the Hotel/Resort environment.
  • Versed in various federal, state, and local employment practices laws and regulations.
  • A Strategic Business Partner with a proven track record of success in all aspects of recruiting, both international and domestic.
  • Experienced with partnering with key leaders at the property to achieve property and organizational objectives.
  • Computer literate in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Windows, with the ability to learn HRIS systems.
  • Fluent in English, both verbally and non-verbally, and have excellent team member relations skills.

Salary range: $130,000 - $145,000/yr.
