About the role:As Director of Operations you will provide leadership, focus and direction to enhance growth-orientated manufacturing performance of a specific facility or grouping of facilities in support of company strategic objectives. Ensures Viant's continuation of its position as an industry leader and enhancement for the future.
Essential duties and responsibilities- Adheres to Viant Core Beliefs and all safety and quality requirements.
- Provides leadership and direction to manufacturing performance for facility(ies) to support company objectives; develops roadmap
- Assumes responsibility for costs, operations, quality and quantity of production collaborating with Function Leaders where applicable
- Assists in short and long-range strategy development for BCT's and Plants
- Accountable for Site(s) Operations Strategy, collaborating with Function Owners
- Develops and incorporates Continuous Improvement initiatives ensuring product performance, compliance and capacity planning
- Ensures facilities and equipment are designed, built and maintained to reduce lead times, costs and no defects
- Collaborates with and coordinates other functions activities in order to deliver Plant goals (HR, Finance, Quality, Supply Chain, Sales)
- Oversees and manages the activities of: production, engineering, warehouse/inventory management
- Drives performance and accountability; develops a high performance workforce
- Creates methods and metrics for measuring performance
- Performs other functions as required.
QualificationsEducation:- Engineering background (strongly preferred / near requirement)
- BA/BS degree or equivalent experience preferred
Experience:- 8+ years of leadership experience in manufacturing environment (preferably medical device)
- Experience in Metals manufacturing experience (preferred)
- Experience in automotive, aerospace, or nuclear industries
- Hands-on leadership experience building high-performance teams
- Experience developing and executing operating plans
- Experience managing diverse manufacturing personalities and styles
- Experience integrating traditional operations with new technologies and processes
- Customer-facing experience with problem-solving to meet requirements
Skills:- Strong understanding of precision machining environments
- Knowledge of machining, metals/plastics processing, fabrication, and product assembly
- Working knowledge of capacity planning and logistics management
- P&L knowledge and understanding of value drivers
- Knowledge of FDA GMP, ISO 13485, and regulatory requirements
- Six Sigma Green/Black Belt and/or Lean manufacturing (Kaizen) expertise
- Strong leadership and team-building skills
- Ability to drive sales with presence and initiative
- Strong written and verbal communication skills (1:1 and group)
- Strategic thinking with ability to plan long-term (6 months to 5 years)
- Ability to conceptualize future state of operations/facility
- Rational thinking with strong business judgment

We offer market competitive compensation. Potential salary range for this role is $180-$210k. Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law
