Summary:

The Director of Operations provides strategic and operational leadership for all manufacturing, supply chain, maintenance, facilities, EH&S, and operational excellence activities within the organization. The role is accountable for achieving business objectives related to safety, quality, delivery, cost, inventory, customer satisfaction, and workforce development. Reporting directly to the General Manager, this position serves as a key member of the site leadership team and plays a critical role in developing long-term strategies that support sustainable growth, operational excellence, and organizational capability.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Foster a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement
  • Effectively convert confirmed customer orders into cash, while consistently meeting or beating commitments to customers and the corporation in terms of schedule, performance, and COGS
  • Establish and drive site-wide performance objectives for safety, quality, delivery, cost, inventory, productivity, workforce engagement, and customer satisfaction.
  • Develop and execute operational strategies aligned with company goals and regulatory requirements
  • Identify, analyze, and sustainably improve operational execution/predictability in those areas that are deemed most critical to maximizing business growth & profitability
  • Drive maintenance programs to ensure equipment reliability and uptime
  • Lead engineering initiatives to improve process efficiency and support capital projects
  • Ensure the factory floor is consistently clean, well-organized, and easily understood by those who work here and those who visit
  • Build and develop a high-performing leadership team through coaching, succession planning, talent reviews, accountability systems, and organizational development initiatives.
  • Serve as a key member of the Battery Products leadership team and strategic partner to the General Manager.


Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; equivalent combination of education and experience acceptable
  • MBA or advanced technical degree preferred
  • Seven (7) years related experience overseeing Operations in a Manufacturing environment
  • Five (5) years leading multiple functional departments through subordinate managers
  • Strong knowledge of 6S and lean manufacturing and experience implementing these principles
  • Experience developing strategic plans and managing operating budgets.
  • Experience leading capital projects and facility expansions.
  • Experience with ERP systems, knowledge of Infor XA is a plus
  • Proficient experience in Microsoft Office applications
  • Excellent oral, written and presentation skills
  • Must be a U.S. Person or U.S. Citizen (includes lawful permanent residents, refugees, green card holders and asylees)


Salary Range:
$150,400.00-$200,500.000

The anticipated salary range listed for this role is only an estimate. Actual compensation for successful candidates is carefully determined based on several factors including, but not limited to, location, local regulations (such as minimum wage), education/training, work experience, key skills, and type of position.
