Enrich the lives of older adults through community, choice, and continuing care in the Director of Nursing Services role. The Director of Nursing Services is a pivotal leadership role within our long-term care facility. As a key member of the management team, the Director of Nursing Services is responsible for overseeing and coordinating all nursing-related activities to ensure the highest standard of patient care and operational excellence. You will provide continuing care through these responsibilities

Essential functions of this position include the following.

Leadership and Management:
  • Provide strong leadership to the nursing staff, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment
  • Develop, mentor, and evaluate nursing staff, including registered nurses, licensed practical nurses, and certified nursing assistants
  • Collaborate with other department heads to ensure seamless and efficient facility operations
  • Build a culture of belonging through effective use of the company's recognition and reward strategies
  • Drive retention and team performance by modeling and implementing the company's people strategies

Clinical Oversight:
  • Ensure that all nursing practices adhere to state and federal regulations, as well as the facility's policies and procedures
  • Implement and monitor patient care plans to ensure comprehensive and individualized care for all residents
  • Oversee medication administration and documentation to maintain compliance with safety and quality standards
  • Oversee infection prevention control program. In the absence of a designated Infection Preventionist (i.e. Staff Development Coordinator/Infection Preventionist Coordinator), serve as the Rehabilitation & Care Center's designated Infection Preventionist Coordinator (IPC)

Quality Assurance:
  • Lead efforts to improve the quality of care by monitoring and assessing clinical outcomes and implementing necessary changes
  • Conduct regular audits, assessments, and inspections to maintain the highest standards of care and safety

Budget Management:
  • Assist in developing and managing the nursing department budget
  • Monitor and control departmental expenses while ensuring adequate staffing levels and resource allocation

Staff Training and Development:
  • Develop and implement ongoing training and education programs for nursing staff to enhance their skills and knowledge
  • Foster a culture of continuous learning and professional growth

Patient and Family Engagement:
  • Promote open communication with residents and their families, addressing their concerns and ensuring their needs are met
  • Participate in resident care conferences and collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to provide comprehensive care


Our requirements and qualifications for success
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) preferred
  • Certification in Gerontological Nursing or Nursing Administration preferred
  • Previous experience in a Director of Nursing role preferred
  • Current, valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Washington State, with a minimum of 5 years of clinical nursing experience
  • Proven leadership experience in long-term care or a similar healthcare setting
  • Knowledge of federal, state, and local regulations related to long-term care nursing services
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment
  • Exceptional problem-solving and decision-making abilities
  • Proficiency in electronic health records and healthcare management systems


Physical, environmental, and mental requirements
  • Ability to give direct patient care, including participating in lifting, transferring, positioning, and assistance of residents with walking or in wheelchairs
  • Able to lift 50lbs on a regular basis
  • Ability to use a computer keyboard or touch screen to document resident records
  • Apply your physical and muscle strength to lift, push, pull or carry objects
  • Ability to utilize your lower back and abdominal muscles to support part of the body repeatedly and continuously over time without fatiguing
  • Ability to listen to and comprehend information and ideas provided through conversation, email, and text
  • Ability to remain poised during emergent situations


Salary Range: $132,078.96 to $169,999.44 per year
