Director of Nursing, (Registered Nurse, RN) Summary

Montgomery Nursing and Rehabilitation Center is a 100-bed Skilled Nursing Facility, committed to being the premier provider and employer of choice in Short Term Rehabilitation, Sub-Acute, and Long Term Healthcare services for the Hudson Valley area. We are dedicated to being the leader in the application and design of innovative services, fostering new partnerships in the community, promoting excellence in the delivery of care for residents and staff, by anticipating and embracing the ever changing needs of the community we serve.
  • The role of the Director of Nursing, RN organize, develop, and direct the overall operation of the Nursing Department in accordance with current federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations that govern the facility, to ensure that the highest degree of quality resident care is maintained at all times.
  • Responsibilities will include oversight and management of Education, Infection Prevention, & Wound Management.
  • Th responsibilities include, but are not limited to, assisting in the evaluation and implementation of all long-term and sub-acute nursing care rendered within the facility, overseeing nursing staffing to ensure quality care is provided.
  • Orient, instruct, educate and train nursing staff as needed. Consult and communicate with In-service department any needs for further education or -re-education required.
  • Supervise and evaluate work performance of nursing personnel. This will include proper safety practice and standards in Nursing Practice.
  • Coordinate the Infection Control Program for the facility.
  • Coordinate the Wound Care Program for the facility.
  • In the event of an emergency situation, may assume unit manager/charge nurse duties as needed.
  • Assist nurses in assessing and developing care plans for individual residents in compliance with regulations and standards of nursing practice.
  • Consult and communicates with the Interdisciplinary Care team any residents/family/ guardian care concerns.
  • Perform other related duties as required and assigned.


Requirements

  • Wound Care Certification & SigmaCare experience a plus!
  • Supervisory or managerial experience in a hospital or preferably nursing home, long-term care (LTC), skilled nursing facility (SNF), and/or sub-acute rehabilitation setting. Experience in management within a geriatric skilled nursing setting highly preferred.
  • Must be a graduate of an approved school of nursing.
  • Must have a current registration in New York State as a RN in good standing.
  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred OR minimum five (5) years of experience in a supervisory capacity.
  • Ability to work cohesively with residents, families, and staff from various departments.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent communication, organization, and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and be flexible.
