Director of Nursing

Hillside Plaza is a resident-centered skilled nursing and long-term care community committed to high-quality clinical outcomes, teamwork, and compassionate service. We are seeking a strong, engaged, and supportive Director of Nursing (DON) to lead our nursing department and elevate the standard of care for our residents.

The Director of Nursing is responsible for planning, organizing, and directing all aspects of nursing services. This role provides leadership, clinical oversight, regulatory compliance, and team development to ensure the highest quality of resident care. The ideal candidate is a collaborative and hands-on leader with proven long-term care experience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide overall leadership and direction for the nursing department
  • Ensure compliance with state, federal, and CMS regulations
  • Oversee nurse staffing, scheduling, recruitment, and retention
  • Support clinical team in achieving excellent resident outcomes and quality measures
  • Develop and implement policies, procedures, and best practices
  • Conduct regular audits, rounds, and clinical reviews
  • Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team on care planning and resident assessments
  • Manage infection control, QA/QAPI, and risk management initiatives
  • Participate in facility surveys, plans of correction, and follow-up processes
  • Provide coaching, performance evaluations, and ongoing staff development
  • Maintain strong, positive relationships with residents, families, and staff

Qualifications
  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state
  • Minimum 2-5 years of nursing leadership in long-term care required (ADON or DON experience preferred)
