Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Support nursing best practices and revise objectives as necessary for quality care.
  • Develop short and long-range nursing planning strategies.
  • Ensure individualized nursing interventions accommodate residents' personal and cognitive needs.
  • Participate in admission decisions to align resident care with facility capabilities.
  • Maintain a safe and sanitary environment for residents and staff through diligent oversight.
  • Ensure proper administration of treatments and management of medications and supplies by nursing staff.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned.

Director of Nursing Summary:

The Director of Nursing oversees the administration of nursing services in accordance with current Federal, State, and Local standards, guidelines, and regulations, as well as company policies and procedures.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Supports best practices and objectives and participates in revision of these as necessary to ensure the provision of the highest quality of care to all residents.
  • Develops short and long-range planning for nursing function.
  • Ensures that nursing interventions meet each resident's personal, physical and cognitive needs and maximize his/her self-care capacities, identity, independence, choice, and opportunity for social interaction.
  • Participates in admission decisions to ensure resident needs can be met by facility nursing capabilities.
  • Ensures a safe and sanitary environment for residents, employees, and visitors via oversight of safety and maintenance functions.
  • Responsible for ensuring treatments are administered appropriately by subordinates, consults with subordinates to ensure that medications and supplies are stored and controlled properly. There is an adequate stock level of medications, medical supplies, equipment, etc., on-premises at all times.
  • Other tasks as assigned.


Qualifications:
  • 3-5 years' nursing supervisory experience in the provision of direct care to multiple patients/residents preferred; previous experience in Skilled Nursing environment desirable
  • Nursing degree from accredited college preferred; graduation from approved RN program required
  • A current, unencumbered license to practice as an RN in Colorado required
  • Current, valid CPR certification required
