Responsibilities

  • Monitor and evaluate nursing care provided
  • Provide staff coverage during breaks and address staffing shortages
  • Ensure materials for each case are ready in advance
  • Facilitate transitions between surgical procedures
  • Delegate and coach team while handling conflict resolution
  • Build trust and respect as a leader

Job Summary and Qualifications

The Director ensures high quality, patient-centered care through oversight of the overall function and staffing of the clinical departments in addition to forecasting, planning, and budget monitoring. The Director fosters a culture of accountability and collaboration and supports the development and implementation of strategies, policies, and procedures in support of facility objectives.

What you will do in this role:

  • You will manage and supervise all areas of nursing care
  • Establish and maintain an effective and supportive working relationship with your Administrator
  • You will ensure that the day-to-day operations are conducted in accordance with clinical practice standards and policies of the center
  • Ensure sufficient staffing daily by notifying your team of scheduling changes in a timely manner
  • You will participate in the monitoring and evaluation of nursing care provided
  • Accessible to your staff by providing breaks, ensuring coverage for meal breaks, late cases and staffing shortages
  • Monitor your clinical area to ensure materials are provided for each case in advance
  • You will facilitate effective and efficient transition between surgical procedures
  • You will delegate, coach, mentor and handle conflict resolution with your team
  • Ability to build trust and gain the respect of your team through effective leadership and participation skills


What qualifications you will need:

  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing required
  • Minimum (5) years direct RN experience; preferably in an ambulatory surgery center surgical setting
  • Minimum (3) years clinical supervisory experience
  • Experience in OR or PACU preferred
  • Active RN license as required by state of employment
  • Valid BCLS Certification upon employment. ***online certification not acceptable
  • ACLS and PALS as required by facility
  • CNOR preferred


Katy Endoscopy Center is located in Houston, Texas. We serve the communities in Harris County. Our facility specializes in the treatment of gastrointestinal diseases. The staff are experienced in performing endoscopies, colonoscopies and flex sigmoidoscopy services. We have been providing exceptional care to our patients since 2002. The center performs over 200 cases a month. As a member of the HCA Healthcare Ambulatory Surgery Division, we follow our mission; Above all else, we are committed to the care and improvement of human life.
