Are you a compassionate and experienced nursing leader dedicated to providing exceptional care for seniors?

ALG Senior is seeking a skilled Director of Nursing (DON) to oversee the clinical care services, staff training, and regulatory compliance at The Gardens at Sumter. This role is critical in ensuring the highest standards of resident care and maintaining a supportive and homelike environment.

Position Summary:

The Director of Nursing is responsible for the overall management of personal care services and medication administration within the community. This includes staff training and supervision, regulatory compliance, infection control, and quality assurance. The DON collaborates with residents, families, and healthcare providers to ensure individualized care plans that promote safety, dignity, and wellness.

The ideal candidate is an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) with strong leadership skills, regulatory knowledge, and a passion for enhancing senior care services.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Clinical Leadership: Direct and oversee all aspects of resident care, ensuring compliance with company policies and state regulations.

Qualifications:
  • Active RN license in good standing with the North Carolina Board of Nursing (required)
  • 2-5 years of management experience in long-term care, assisted living, or senior care (required)
  • Experience in dementia and cognitive care (preferred)
  • Strong knowledge of state and federal regulations for senior care services
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency in documentation, electronic medical records, and healthcare software
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Compassion for and a desire to work with the elderly
  • Knowledge of federal nursing home regulations, including requirements under 42 CFR part 483
  • Experience with survey readiness, quality assurance/performance improvement (QAPI), infection prevention, staffing and regulatory compliance
