Director of Nursing

We are seeking an experienced long-term care nurse to lead our team as our Director of Nursing. Responsibilities:

Responsible for the administration and management of Nursing Services to residents in accordance with orders of the physicians and total needs of the residents. Responsible for 24-hour supervision of Nursing Services and directs the Nursing Department to maintain quality standards of care in accordance with current Federal, State and The Company standards, guidelines and regulations. In absence of the Administrator, assumes responsibility for center operations. The position conducts the nursing process - assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation - under the scope of the State's Nurse Practice Act of Registered Nurse licensure.
  • Assumes ultimate responsibility for coordinating plans for the total care of each resident which comply with physician's orders, governmental regulations and facility resident care policies.
  • Communicates and interprets policies and procedures to nursing staff, and monitors staff practices and implementation.
  • Participate in all admissions decisions and may visit prospective residents before admissions.
  • Participates in daily and weekly management team meetings to discuss resident status, census changes, personnel, or resident complaints or concerns.
  • Develops, maintains and improves nursing service objectives, standards for nursing practice, nursing procedure manuals and written job descriptions for each level of nursing personnel.
  • Develop organizational strategies by contributing information, analysis, and recommendations to strategic thinking and direction, establishing functional objectives in line with organization objectives.
  • Establish operational strategies by evaluating trends, establishing critical measurements; determining production, productivity, quality, and customer-service strategies; designing systems; accumulating resources; resolving problems; implementing change.

Qualifications:
  • RN - Registered Nurse - State Licensure and/or Compact State Licensure
  • Experience as an RN in a Skilled Nursing Facility
  • Desire to lead and mentor a team of clinical staff, while fostering a strong working relationship with interdisciplinary team
  • Ability to communicate effectively with residents, families, providers and staff
  • Belief in a customer service focused approach to care
