Director of Nursing (DON)
The Gardens at West Shore | Camp Hill, PA
Position Type: Full-Time

The current DON is retiring, this position will be open the end of September/beginning of October.

This is an excellent opportunity for a dedicated nursing leader who is committed to delivering quality care, mentoring staff, and fostering a collaborative and supportive workplace.
Schedule
  • Day Shift
  • Includes weekend and on-call responsibilities as needed
Key Responsibilities
  • Plan, organize, develop, and direct the overall operations of the Nursing Services Department
  • Ensure high-quality resident care while maintaining compliance with state and federal regulations
  • Oversee nursing staff performance, training, and professional development
  • Monitor and ensure accurate and thorough clinical documentation, including nurses' notes reflecting resident treatments, medications, and conditions
  • Conduct daily rounds to observe resident care, communicate with physicians, and interact with residents and families
  • Collaborate with the MDS/Resident Assessment Coordinator to schedule, plan, and revise MDS assessments and care plans, including RAPs and triggers
  • Support quality assurance initiatives and continuous improvement in clinical outcomes
  • Work closely with the Administrator and interdisciplinary leadership team to ensure efficient facility operations
  • Manage staffing levels, scheduling oversight, and departmental budgeting
  • Address resident, family, and staff concerns with professionalism and compassion
Qualifications
  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing in the State of Pennsylvania
  • Minimum one (1) year of nursing leadership experience in long-term care (ADON, DON, or similar role)
  • Strong knowledge of long-term care regulations, MDS processes, and clinical compliance
  • Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to mentor staff and build a positive team culture
  • Commitment to delivering high-quality resident-centered care
