Carrie Elligson Gietner Home, a 120-bed skilled nursing facility and AMA-LTC managed community, is seeking an experienced Director of Nursing (DON) to lead clinical operations and inspire a culture of clinical excellence, teamwork, and resident-centered care.

Responsibilities
  • Provide leadership and oversight for all nursing operations within our 120-bed Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF).
  • Partner with the Nursing Home Administrator and interdisciplinary leadership team to achieve exceptional clinical, regulatory, operational, and financial outcomes.
  • Ensure CMS compliance, regulatory readiness, and successful state survey performance.
  • Oversee resident care, clinical documentation, infection prevention, quality assurance, and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Lead staff education, orientation, ongoing clinical training, and leadership development.
  • Recruit, mentor, and develop nursing leaders and frontline staff while building a strong culture of teamwork and accountability.
  • Drive improvements in CMS Quality Measures, staffing, resident satisfaction, and clinical outcomes.
  • Foster a positive work environment focused on employee engagement, retention, and continuous improvement.
  • Provide calm, decisive leadership in a changing healthcare environment while maintaining a strong focus on resident-centered care.
  • Support the care of residents with behavioral health diagnoses, psychiatric disorders, dementia, and other medically complex conditions.
Qualifications
  • Current Missouri Registered Nurse (RN) license or compact state license eligible for Missouri practice.
  • Previous experience as a Director of Nursing (DON) or Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) in a Skilled Nursing Facility.
  • Experience caring for residents with behavioral health diagnoses, psychiatric disorders, dementia, and other complex clinical needs is required.
  • Strong knowledge of CMS regulations, the state survey process, regulatory compliance, Quality Measures, and infection prevention.
  • Demonstrated success in staff development, clinical education, leadership coaching, and team building.
  • Ability to lead through change, manage multiple priorities, and achieve measurable quality improvements.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
