Position: Director of MaintenanceRole Hope House for the Multiple-Handicapped, Inc. is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Director of Maintenance to oversee the maintenance, safety, functionality and physical condition of our residential, program, administrative and other facilities.
Responsibilities - Direct maintenance and facilities operations across Hope House properties.
- Develop and manage a comprehensive preventive maintenance program.
- Supervise maintenance employees and coordinate outside contractors and vendors.
- Ensure facilities meet applicable safety, fire, building, health, accessibility and licensing requirements.
- Establish and manage an effective work-order system.
- Respond to and coordinate emergency maintenance situations.
- Develop and manage the annual maintenance budget.
- Evaluate repair-versus-replacement decisions.
- Coordinate renovations, capital improvements and major repairs.
- Develop a long-term facilities capital plan.
- Maintain records of inspections, preventive maintenance, repairs, warranties & major equipment.
- Oversee maintenance of organizational vehicles and major equipment as assigned.
- Conduct regular inspections of residential and program facilities.
- Work closely with program and residential leadership to address facility needs.
- Develop strong relationships with contractors and service providers.
- Promote a culture of safety, accountability, responsiveness, and professionalism.
Qualifications: - Attainment of 18 years of age
- Attain upon hire & maintain an active fingerprint background check clearance throughout employment.
- Supply current health screening and test for tuberculosis.
- At least 5 years of progressively responsible facilities/maintenance experience.
- Experience supervising employees and contractors.
- Strong knowledge of building systems, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and general construction.
- Experience managing multiple facilities or properties preferred.
- Strong organizational, budgeting, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and respond effectively to emergencies.
- Experience with regulatory compliance and inspections preferred.
- Experience in nonprofit, residential-care, healthcare, developmental disability, behavioral-health or similar settings is highly desirable.
- Valid California driver's license and acceptable driving record.
Physical Requirements- Walk through and inspect residential and program facilities.
- Climb stairs and ladders as necessary.
- Bend, stoop, reach, and work in confined or difficult-to-access areas when appropriate.
- Lift and carry maintenance materials and equipment consistent with organizational safety policies.
- Operate or supervise the operation of common maintenance tools and equipment.
- Work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Respond to facility emergencies when necessary.

Supervises - Outside contractors & vendors
- Maintenance staff of the agency.
- Collaborates and directs facility Administrators in maintenance areas.
- Collaborates with the Clinical Services Director on matters related to health and safety.

Salary Exempt
HoursMonday through Friday 7:00 am - 3:30 pm;
Weekends/Holidays/Evenings on call
