Director of K-12 School Partnerships and Combatting Antisemitism
Location: Whippany, NJ
Salary: $80,000 - $85,000 + Benefits
Full Time - Hybrid: In office Monday, Tuesday and Thursday
Position SummaryJewish Federation of Greater MetroWest, NJ seeks a full-time Director of K-12 School Partnerships and Combating Antisemitism. This position will serve as Federation's primary liaison to public and private secular schools throughout our five counties, building trusted relations with educators, heads of school, superintendents and members of Boards of Education. The Director of K-12 School Partnerships and Combating Antisemitism will advance antisemitism education, work with our Holocaust Education director to advance Holocaust education, support Jewish students and families and help foster school environments where every student feels safe, respected and included.
Key Responsibilities- Establish the role as Federation's primary point of contact with all K-12 secular schools
- Work with school administration and key educators to promote Jewish education, history and identity in local schools
- Set forth clear lesson plans and guidelines in combatting antisemitism in schools
- Develop and maintain relationships between superintendents, heads of school, teachers. curriculum creators, DEI staff and guidance counselors, and the Jewish community
- Oversee a lay committee of parents from key schools and areas
- Coordinate Jewish Federation study tours to Israel for key educators in the area
- Provide professional development for educators to recognize and respond to antisemitism, address bias and hate incidents and incorporate accurate Jewish history into classroom instruction
- Serve as a resource for families and educators for incidents involving antisemitism or anti-Jewish hatred
- Work with teen department to coordinate the placement of students in our Student to Student Program
- Participate in the annual NJEA (NJ teacher's union) conference in November and other Jewish caucus meetings
Relationship Management & External Engagement- Represent the organization in the community, building visibility and relationships with business leaders
- Be a convenor for school administration, educators, parents and students
Qualifications- 3+ years of experience in or working with secular schools
- Strong knowledge of Jewish history, particularly focused on antisemitism and rises in Jewish hatred
- Strong relationship-building and communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple growing situations at the same time

Reporting Structure:- The Director of K-12 School Partnerships will be part of Federation's Jewish Community Relations Council (JCRC) and report directly to the JCRC Director.
