About the Role:

A mid-sized distribution and logistics company is seeking a strategic and hands-on Director of Information Technology to lead and evolve its enterprise-wide technology environment. This individual will be responsible for ensuring the reliability, efficiency, and scalability of core business systems, including ERP, WMS, infrastructure, custom development, and reporting platforms.

The Director will play a key leadership role in driving digital transformation, developing a high-performing internal IT team, and aligning technology strategies with organizational goals. This is a highly visible role, collaborating directly with executive leadership and business units such as sales, finance, warehouse operations, logistics, and procurement.

Key Responsibilities:

Maintain a clear, prioritized IT project/request queue with consistent stakeholder communication

Establish and track departmental goals, budgets, and performance metrics

Hire, mentor, and evaluate IT staff while fostering professional growth

Manage vendor relationships and support contracts

Collaborate with leadership to identify and execute technology-driven process improvements

Oversee system upgrades, application modernization, and new technology integrations

Evaluate and implement software solutions aligned with business growth

Engage external partners and customers on system integrations and enhancements

Ensure a secure and reliable IT infrastructure (network, servers, hardware, VPN, etc.)

Enforce cybersecurity, backup protocols, and disaster recovery strategies

Manage ERP, WMS, and other core enterprise systems

Lead internal application development and vendor-supported software initiatives

Promote self-service reporting and dashboards to deliver business insights

Support BI tool adoption and analytics best practices
