Description
Reporting to, and as the right hand of the CIO, the Director of IT provides IT strategy support, business analysis, and project management to direct the development and implementation of technology solutions through all phases in support of organizational strategy, operational efficiency, digital innovation, and long-term growth.
Leading and managing a small team of IT professionals, the role ensures that systems, applications, and infrastructure are cross-functionally aligned with business goals and guides the data governance/administration function to deliver measurable value to internal stakeholders, members, and volunteers. The Director collaborates with leadership across departments, and oversees vendor and partner relationships to ensure secure, scalable, and user-centric technology applications and services.
Responsible for working directly with the CIO to perform business analysis and develop and execute a forward-looking technology strategy aligned with organizational goals and evolving member/volunteer needs.
Lead the management and prioritization of a portfolio of IT solution requests and projects.
Partner with stakeholders (staff, members, volunteers) to understand and translate requirements into integrated technological solutions that support strategic initiatives. Create RFP's, proposals and statements of work.
Define and direct all phases of projects from requirements definition and solution design to testing, deployment, production troubleshooting, and end user training while ensuring delivery within scope, timeline and budget.
Develop proactive plans for the optimization, integration, and discontinuation of technology and technology applications.
Responsible for consistent oversight of IT infrastructure and application and system effectiveness; ensures systems, applications, and infrastructure are cross-functionally aligned with business goals.
Identify and oversee the provision of staff training, documentation, and change management support to ensure adoption and effectiveness of new technologies.
Oversee security, incident response, and business continuity planning related to IT systems.
Provide leadership to the data governance/administration function to ensure data quality, consistency, and security across systems and platforms.
Ensure the development and enforcement of proper policies, standards, and procedures related to data management, integrity, and compliance.
Ensure compliance with data privacy and government regulations to mitigate data-related risks.
Propose and proactively manage IT project budgets to ensure that resources are used effectively.
Oversee procurement, budgeting, and lifecycle planning for technology assets and services.
Hire, onboard, and facilitate professional development to align staff contributions with organizational goals.
Carry out the performance management program, working to build and grow capability, while addressing performance issues in a timely and structured manner; coach, mentor, and counsel employee(s) when necessary; generate timely and proper performance management documentation including annual performance reviews.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, related field (Master's degree preferred).
Minimum of 10 years of progressively responsible IT experience,
including at least 5 years in a managerial and leadership role.
Extensive Salesforce experience with expertise in leading robust
Salesforce end-to end projects, and a strong track record of managing vendor
relationships to ensure accountability, transparency, and on-time
deliverables. Fonteva Association Management System highly preferred.
Proven experience leading enterprise-wide system
implementations, integrations, and digital transformation efforts with budget
accountability.
Knowledge of various project management methodologies required;
PMP or other relevant Project Management certification preferred.
