Director of Information Technology

Job Summary

Lead the development, implementation and maintenance of application systems, infrastructure, and other key initiatives, anticipating business needs to ensure superior information technology support. This position will be responsible for defining the strategy and leading a team to execute a strategic IT roadmap. This role will be responsible for the software development life cycle process and develop and maintain strong vendor and IT relationships with a focus on collaboration and direct communications. The ideal candidate is a strategic leader with the capability and desire to create value by aligning IT resources and projects to business priorities and ensuring functional capabilities and technology innovations are a key enable to overall success.

MAIN POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for enterprise technology planning, collaborating with Senior Leaders to assure alignment to goals and an information technology roadmap that supports strategic and near-term goals.
  • Lead enterprise IT transformation initiatives, including potential evaluation, selection, and implementation of a standardized ERP platform, driving simplification, scalability, and process alignment across the organization. Assess current systems infrastructure and develop roadmap for consolidating aging and obsolete systems.
  • Partner closely with Finance and Operations leadership to ensure IT investments deliver measurable business value, including cost efficiency, productivity improvements, and risk reduction.
  • Provide leadership to IT application and infrastructure team, prioritizing projects based on value creation, and ensuring commitments are met while providing high quality, stable secure and cost-effective systems and solutions.
  • Own and evolve internally developed manufacturing applications, ensuring scalability, reliability, and alignment with operational needs. Establish a product-oriented mindset for internal systems, including lifecycle management, documentation, and continuous improvement.
  • Drive a culture of accountability, system discipline, and data integrity across the organization, ensuring that technology solutions are standardized, adopted, and effectively utilized.
  • Develop and maintain disaster recovery and business continuity plans.
  • Develop and lead a comprehensive cybersecurity program, including risk assessment, mitigation strategies, incident response planning, and alignment with industry best practices. Regularly communicate risk posture and preparedness to executive leadership.

EMPLOYEE QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or related field.
  • 10+ years of experience in combination of application development and management including infrastructure, in both stable and growth environments.
  • Experience evaluating Manufacturing ERP systems preferred.
  • Demonstrated project management experience in development, versed in agile methodology, JD Edwards, Business Objects and SQL.
  • Demonstrated success driving organizational change.
