Job Summary and Qualifications

  • The Director of Infection Prevention is responsible for the coordination, implementation and oversight of the organization's infection prevention program in order to support the mission, vision and values of Medical City Plano.
  • The Director provides leadership and supports departments through promotion of infection prevention initiatives throughout the organization.
  • The Director supports the nursing staff's primary commitment to protect the health, safety and rights of the individual, family or community.
  • The Director will develop and maintain policies and procedures that support successful quality and patient safety outcome.
  • You will provide ongoing improvement in the delivery of healthcare to patients, identify areas of opportunity, and coordinate and execute regulatory compliance programs as related to Federal, State and other agencies.
  • You will provide ongoing surveillance of infection disease present in the hospital and take appropriate steps to contain and prevent the acquisition and transmission of infectious agents in accordance with CDC guidelines and hospital policies.


What qualifications you will need:

Education:

  • Master's Degree in Public Health, Nursing or related field required.

Licensure/Certification/Registration:

CIC certification required within 1 year of service.

Experience:

5 years of hospital experience in infection prevention and healthcare.

Medical City Plano was the first Level I Trauma Center in Collin County and The Burn & Reconstructive Center of Texas was the first burn center in Collin County.
