Summary

The Director of Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD) provides strategic leadership and administrative oversight for the agency's IDD programs, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, person-centered services. This position works collaboratively with agency leadership, funders, and community partners to strengthen program effectiveness, advance organizational objectives, and promote positive outcomes for persons served. The Director leads efforts to ensure operational excellence, regulatory compliance, and continuous quality improvement while fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and innovation throughout the department.

Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic leadership and administrative oversight for all Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD) programs, ensuring high-quality, person-centered services.
  • Direct, coach, and support IDD staff and supervisors.
  • Establish program goals, monitor key performance indicators, and implement initiatives that improve service quality, operational efficiency, and client outcomes.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, local, accreditation, and funder requirements, including CARF, Recipient Rights, Medicaid, and agency policies.
  • Oversee quality assurance, utilization management, audit readiness, and corrective action planning for IDD programs.
  • Monitor program documentation, Electronic Medical Record (EMR) compliance, billing integrity, and service authorization processes.
  • Develop, administer, and monitor program budgets in collaboration with the Finance Department while ensuring responsible stewardship of agency resources.
  • Participate in strategic planning, program development, and organizational initiatives that support the agency's mission and long-term objectives.
  • Build and maintain productive relationships with funders, community partners, advocacy organizations, and regulatory agencies.
  • Represent the agency at funder, community, and stakeholder meetings as appropriate.
  • Participant in workforce planning, recruitment, employee development, succession planning, and performance management for supervisory staff.
  • Ensure staff receive required training and maintain all required certifications, licenses, and competencies.
  • Provide executive consultation regarding complex clinical, operational, personnel, and regulatory matters.
  • Promote a culture of person-centered care, ethical practice, diversity, equity, and continuous quality improvement.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.


Qualifications

Education

  • Master's degree in social work, counseling, or a related field.


Experience

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience working directly with individuals with developmental disabilities.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a clinical leadership role, IDD leadership preferred.


Credentials

  • LMSW, LPC
  • QMHP and QIDP credentials or ability to obtain them within 60 days of hire.
