Kendal at Oberlin's Human Resources Department has an opening for the position of
Director of Human Resources. This senior level position, reporting to the CEO, will be fully responsible and accountable for all Human Resources operations for the Kendal at Oberlin staff community in full accordance with Kendal's Values and Practices; having oversight of benefits administration, staff compensation, employee relations, recruiting, unemployment, education/training/development, data/record maintenance, and job safety/workers compensation. Further responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
- Promotes and provides in-house mentoring and coaching to assure staff growth, encouragement and problem-solving within professional scope.
- Provides a broad range of consultative support services to all levels of staff regarding compliance with Kendal policies and procedures.
- Facilitates communication among staff members and management in accordance with Kendal Practice of "Equally Valued." Guides management and frontline staff members on problem-solving, dispute resolution, regulatory compliance, and litigation avoidance
- Plans, implements, and ensures ongoing maintenance of employee relation, Ohio workers' compensation, ODJFS unemployment compensation, EEO, staff diversity, and compensation programs with the Kendal Achievement Action Plan.
- Attends Kendal at Oberlin Board of Directors meetings as requested by CEO.
- Serves as customer service advisor to Kendal residents by redirecting them to appropriate operational staff for request facilitation.
- Supports Finance Department's payroll operation with accurate data entry for staff benefits and compensation administration.
- Maintains, supports, and improves the operational efficiencies of the Early Learning Center and Hospitality Services Departments by supporting and coaching their directors and supervisory staff.
- Responsible for all human resources files containing the appropriate data as required by Kendal and various state and federal government entities.
- Consults with chief executives and department heads on staff performance, organizational leadership matters, and maintains management guidelines by preparing, updating, and recommending human resource policies and procedures; communicating accurate information to The Kendal Corporations' Senior Vice-President of Human Resources regarding all aspects of human resources activities at Kendal at Oberlin.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor's Degree and minimum 10 years' human resources management, staff and training development experience;
- Technically skilled with Microsoft Office 365, SharePoint, Excel, and UKG-Pro management system.
- Physical demands include sitting for 80% of the work day.
- Must be able to effectively and professionally communicate with Staff, Residents, Board, Community Contacts, Vendors.
