Responsibilities

Compensation: $115,500-$125,500 / annually

The Director of Human Resources and Risk Management provides leadership and oversight of all Human Resources and Risk Management functions to support the organization's mission, goals, and workforce strategy. This position is responsible for providing Leadership to address employee relations, talent management, compliance, workplace safety, risk mitigation, and organizational development initiatives while ensuring the consistent application of Tandem Living policies, procedures, and employment practices. Responsibilities are carried out in accordance with Tandem Living's Mission, Core Values, and all applicable federal, state, and local regulations.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, or a related field.
Three (3) years of management or supervisory experience in a Human Resources department, preferably within a healthcare or senior living setting.
Maintains membership in the Lancaster County Association for Human Resource Management and the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM). Membership in a LeadingAge HR affinity group is preferred.
The Director of Human Resources and Risk Management supervises the HRIS and Benefits Manager, Talent Acquisition and People Manager, Volunteer and Office Manager, and Human Resources Assistant.
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
Oversees the recruiting function by providing guidance and direction to the Recruiter. Monitors staffing needs, recruitment activity, retention, and turnover across Tandem Living.
Oversees Volunteer Services for Tandem Living in collaboration with the Volunteer Manager, ensuring volunteer needs are effectively met across the organization and for residents. Oversees the Front Office at Trillium Place in collaboration with the Office Manager.
Assists with benefit plan design and employee benefits communication. Manages the annual open enrollment process and provides guidance and support to employees regarding benefit-related questions.
Manages the Tandem Living employee Core Value and Goal Review process, ensuring timely completion and follow-up.
Addresses staff concerns and employment-related issues; approves employment status changes and oversees requests related to leaves of absence.
Provides guidance and support regarding employee disciplinary matters in consultation with the Senior Leadership Team, ensuring consistency and alignment with organizational policies and practices.
Monitors Workers' Compensation incidents and claims, coordinates the return-to-work process, and participates in hearings as needed. Completes Unemployment Compensation and Relief of Charges documentation and attends hearings as needed. Oversees liability claims involving visitors, residents, volunteers, and vendors.
