Job DescriptionThe Director of Human Resources Operations provides strategic and operational leadership for the day-to-day administration of Human Resources services at Reynolds Community College. The position is responsible for ensuring efficient, accurate, compliant, and customer-focused HR operations that support the college's mission, workforce, and institutional priorities.
The Director oversees core HR operational functions, including employee lifecycle administration, personnel transactions, HR systems and records, recruitment and onboarding processes, HR policies and procedures, employee relations support, compliance, reporting, and continuous improvement.
The successful candidate will serve as a trusted HR partner to college leadership, managers, faculty, and staff and will promote a culture of service, accountability, inclusion, and operational excellence.
Special Assignments May be required to perform other duties as assigned. May be required to assist the agency or state government generally in the event of an emergency declaration by the Governor.
KSA's/Required Qualifications Required- Demonstrated progressively responsible experience in human resources operations.
- Demonstrated experience interpreting and applying employment policies, procedures, and regulations.
- Demonstrated experience supervising HR professionals and/or support staff .
- Demonstrated ability to manage confidential personnel information.
- Strong analytical, organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to establish effective working relationships with employees, managers, and senior leadership.
- Proficiency with HR information systems and Microsoft Office or comparable business applications.
Preferred Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Public Administration, Organizational Development, or a related field.
- Master's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Public Administration, Higher Education Administration, or a related field.
- HR certification such as SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR.
- Experience working in higher education, government, or another public-sector environment.
- Experience with VCCS, DHRM, or comparable state-government HR systems and policies.
- Experience leading HR process-improvement or HR technology initiatives.
- Experience with employee relations, classification and compensation, recruitment, or HR compliance.
Additional Considerations - Experience in an academic environment; VCCS experience highly desirable.
