Director of Human Resources, to serve as a key member of the leadership team and strategic partner to business leaders. This role will lead HR strategy and operations across talent management, employee relations, performance management, leadership development, HR systems, compliance, and organizational effectiveness.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on HR leader who can move seamlessly between strategy and execution, provide sound guidance on complex employment matters, and develop people strategies that support organizational growth and business performance.
What You'll Do - Develop and execute human capital strategies aligned with organizational goals, workforce priorities, and long-term business objectives.
- Serve as a trusted HR advisor to senior leadership, providing guidance on workforce strategy, organizational effectiveness, employee relations, and employment risk.
- Lead initiatives that strengthen workplace culture, employee engagement, retention, and the overall employee experience.
- Oversee talent management strategies, including succession planning, leadership development, workforce planning, and retention of critical talent.
- Lead performance management programs that establish clear expectations, strengthen accountability, and support employee and organizational performance.
- Provide guidance on complex employee relations matters, workplace investigations, performance concerns, disciplinary actions, and other sensitive HR issues.
- Ensure HR practices comply with federal, state, and local employment laws, organizational policies, and applicable regulatory requirements.
- Partner with the organization's Professional Employer Organization (PEO) to effectively manage HR administration, compliance, payroll, benefits, and other workforce processes.
- Oversee HRIS administration and ensure employee records, timekeeping, and workforce data remain accurate, secure, and compliant.
- Use workforce data and HR metrics to identify trends, evaluate organizational needs, and provide actionable recommendations to leadership.
- Lead organizational change initiatives and develop HR strategies that support business transformation and continuous improvement.
- Partner with leaders to identify workforce risks and implement proactive solutions that strengthen operational performance.
- Support labor relations and union-related matters, as applicable, while maintaining productive employee and management relationships.
- Continuously evaluate HR programs, policies, systems, and processes to improve efficiency, consistency, compliance, and employee experience.
What We're Looking For Education - Required: Bachelor's degree in Business, Human Resources, or a related field.
- Preferred: Master's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Organizational Leadership, or a related field.
Experience - Required: Six (6) or more years of progressive Human Resources leadership experience.
- Required: Experience working with a Professional Employer Organization (PEO).
- Required: Demonstrated experience partnering with senior leaders on complex HR and workforce matters.
- Preferred: Strong knowledge of federal and state employment laws, HR best practices, compliance, and employment risk management.
- Preferred: Experience leading talent management, succession planning, performance management, and employee engagement initiatives.
- Preferred: Experience managing complex employee relations matters and workplace investigations.
- Preferred: Experience with labor relations and unionized work environments.
- Preferred: Experience administering or overseeing HRIS, timekeeping, and workforce data processes.
- Preferred: Healthcare industry experience, particularly within a complex, highly regulated environment.
Licenses & Certifications - SHRM-SCP, SHRM-CP, SPHR, or PHR certification (preferred)
