Job Summary
The County of Mono is seeking an experienced and collaborative Human Resources Director to lead a full-service Human Resources Department supporting County operations and employees. Reporting to the County Administrative Officer, the Director provides strategic leadership for all human resources functions, including recruitment and retention, classification and compensation, employee and labor relations, benefits administration, organizational development, policy development, performance management, risk management coordination, and compliance with federal and state employment laws. The Human Resources Department serves as a strategic partner to County leadership and provides comprehensive human resources services to support Mono County's workforce. The department oversees talent acquisition, employee and labor relations, classification and compensation, benefits administration, performance management, policy development, training and organizational development, workers' compensation coordination, and compliance with employment laws and regulations. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Any combination of training and experience, which would provide the required knowledge and abilities, is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the required knowledge and abilities might be:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in human resource management or a related field or a demonstrated equivalent in formal education and experience.

  • Five or more years of progressively responsible experience in a human resources department, preferably in the public sector. Three (3) years of which must have been in a supervisory capacity.
  • Demonstrated expertise in communications and interpersonal skills.
