Full Job Description
Job Title: Director of Homeschool Marketing
Department: Marketing
Reports to: Vice President of Marketing
Location: Remote-first
Employment Type: Exempt / Full-Time

The Team You Will Join

You'll join StrongMind's Marketing organization at an exciting moment. We're investing in new talent and capabilities, modernizing our technology and operating systems, building AI-native ways of working, and creating clearer ownership around the business outcomes Marketing drives.

StrongMind Homeschool is our new B2C platform, and you'll have the opportunity to help build the consumer growth engine behind it from the ground up.

You'll work closely with our VP of Marketing and partner across Product, Customer Experience, Marketing Operations, and our shared Marketing Centers of Excellence, including creative, lifecycle, content, digital, web, and production.

This role is intentionally different from a traditional Head of Marketing position.

You aren't being hired to build a large team beneath you. You're being hired to build a growth engine.

You'll own the strategy, understand the customer, make investment decisions, direct shared resources, test aggressively, learn quickly, and drive measurable results.

There isn't a mature playbook waiting for you.

You get to help build it.

If taking an early-stage consumer product, deeply understanding its customers, finding repeatable growth channels, and building something capable of national scale sounds like your kind of challenge, we should talk.

The Difference You Will Make

Homeschool families are looking for something different. They want more flexibility, more choice, more confidence, and better tools to help them create an education that works for their family.

Your work will help more families discover that StrongMind Homeschool exists-and understand how it can make homeschooling feel more accessible, supported, and achievable.

You'll do that by building a deep understanding of homeschool families and translating those insights into the right positioning, offers, experiences, campaigns, and customer journeys.

You'll build the strategies that attract the right families, help them confidently take the next step, keep them engaged after they join, and ultimately turn great customer experiences into retention, referrals, and advocacy.

You'll connect acquisition, lifecycle, product marketing, content, creative, CRO, customer research, and analytics into one cohesive growth strategy-and continually improve it based on what families actually need and how they behave.

The impact is bigger than growing a customer base. You'll help more families find an education option that gives them greater flexibility and ownership over how their children learn.

A Typical Day Looks Like

While no two days will look exactly the same, you can expect to:

  • Turn business goals into acquisition, conversion, activation, retention, and revenue strategies.
  • Review funnel performance and determine where budget, messaging, creative, channels, or resources need to shift.
  • Develop and test audiences, offers, campaigns, landing pages, pricing, messaging, and acquisition strategies.
  • Dig into CAC, conversion, activation, churn, retention, LTV, and customer behavior to determine what happens next.
  • Partner with Product to translate new capabilities into customer-facing value and bring customer insights back into the product roadmap.
  • Build lifecycle strategies across nurture, onboarding, activation, engagement, retention, win-back, referral, and advocacy.
  • Talk to customers, study their behavior, and turn those insights into stronger Marketing and Product decisions.
  • Partner with our ESA team to turn funding opportunities into scalable customer-acquisition strategies.
  • Build strong briefs and guide our shared creative, content, digital, lifecycle, web, and production resources.
  • Experiment continually across channels, audiences, creative, messaging, and offers.
  • Use AI every day to research, analyze, personalize, test, automate, and move faster.
  • Build systems and processes that make growth increasingly predictable and repeatable.

Your Expertise Includes

We're looking for someone who brings:

  • 7+ years of progressive B2C Marketing, Growth, or related experience with meaningful ownership of acquisition, revenue, or measurable growth outcomes.
  • Demonstrated experience building or scaling a consumer acquisition engine.
  • Strong understanding of recurring-revenue businesses such as subscription, SaaS, membership, DTC, marketplaces, or similar consumer models.
  • Broad fluency across performance marketing, lifecycle/CRM, brand, content, web, CRO, customer research, analytics, and experimentation.
  • Deep enough knowledge of performance marketing and customer-acquisition funnels to diagnose performance and challenge strategy.
  • Experience managing meaningful marketing budgets and making investment decisions based on performance.
  • Strong understanding of CAC, LTV, conversion, activation, retention, churn, and payback.
  • Experience developing positioning, messaging, offers, campaigns, and go-to-market strategies.
  • Experience partnering closely with Product and using customer insights to influence decisions.
  • Strong business judgment and the ability to translate customer behavior and performance data into action.
  • Strong cross-functional leadership skills and the ability to create alignment without relying on direct reporting authority.
  • Experience operating in environments where the playbook is still being created.
  • AI-native ways of working-you already use AI to research, analyze, create, experiment, personalize, automate, and make better decisions.

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, or related field preferred.
  • Equivalent professional experience and demonstrated results matter more than checking a degree box.

You'll probably feel at home here if:

  • You're obsessed with growth and love figuring out what actually moves the number.
  • You're a full-stack B2C marketer who can see how acquisition, brand, lifecycle, product, content, CRO, and analytics fit together.
  • You're a builder who gets energized by the blank page.
  • You're an A-player with high standards who enjoys working alongside other talented people.
  • You're commercially minded and comfortable being accountable for measurable outcomes.
  • You're AI-native, curious, and proactive.
  • You're willing to get into the details when needed without needing to personally own every executional task.
  • You're comfortable testing something, being wrong, learning quickly, and changing course.

Bonus points if you also have experience with:

  • Consumer EdTech
  • Homeschool or family-focused consumer brands
  • ESA or educational-funding programs
  • Consumer SaaS or subscription businesses
  • Influencer or creator marketing
  • Community-led growth
  • Referral and advocacy programs
  • Taking a consumer product from early stage to meaningful scale

Success in This Role

Success isn't measured by how many campaigns you launch.

It's measured by whether StrongMind Homeschool develops a repeatable and efficient consumer growth engine.

You'll know you're succeeding when we are consistently acquiring the right families, conversion and activation are improving, CAC and LTV are understood and optimized, lifecycle programs are strengthening engagement and retention, customer insights are improving our product and messaging, and we know where to invest the next marketing dollar.

Most importantly, you help take StrongMind Homeschool from early-stage learning to sustainable, measurable national growth.

How We'll Take Care of You

We believe that when people feel supported, they do their best work.

Our commitment to you includes:

  • A competitive total compensation package, including medical, dental, vision, and voluntary benefits
  • Well-being that works for real life-from an on-site gym, virtual wellness programs, and wellness coaching to flexible work options for select roles, because your well-being fuels your brilliance
  • Unlimited PTO for salaried roles and "life happens" days when you need flexibility
  • A fully paid holiday week off at Christmas, so you can truly rest, reset, and reconnect
  • Recognition and rewards that celebrate birthdays, meaningful anniversary milestones, and community service hours that let you give back
  • Quarterly Town Halls that keep communication transparent, honest, and human
  • Annual social events and traditions we genuinely look forward to-like Halloween celebrations, Wellness Fairs, and other moments that bring our community together

We're intentional about building a workplace where people feel valued, connected, and empowered to thrive-at work and beyond.
