Job Summary

The Director of Game Experience leads the live game presentation and fan experience for Utah Athletics, with a primary focus on Football as their lead sport and serves as the lead show caller and in-game experience coordinator. After football season, the role shifts to leading game presentation at the Utah Basketball, while also providing oversight across other sports.

The Director leads a team of game producers, develops big creative concepts for game days, and is responsible for building and executing the overall atmosphere and entertainment elements at both venues.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Serve as the primary show caller for all Utah Football and Utah Basketball home games, with oversight across other sports.
  • Plan and execute game-day presentation, including pacing, entertainment elements, and overall atmosphere.
  • Create run-of-show documents, scripts, cue sheets, and operational plans.


Creative & Operational Leadership:
  • Generate and execute creative ideas that improve the in-venue experience.
  • Lead and manage a team of game producers and interns.
  • Collaborate with technical staff, broadcast, marketing, communications, ticketing, sponsorship, facilities, and operations teams.
  • Manage the game experience budget and vendor relationships.
  • Review and improve game-day execution based on feedback and performance.


Qualifications

Required:
  • Bachelor's degree in Sports Management, Marketing, Communications, Entertainment Business, or related field.
  • 8+ years of experience in live sports event production, game presentation, control room, or large-scale event management.
  • Experience managing direct reports and leading creative or production teams.
  • Experience building and executing run-of-shows, scripts, and live event content.
  • Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays as required by the athletics schedule.


Preferred:
  • Experience in NCAA Division I athletics or professional sports.
  • Experience managing event budgets and vendor relationships.
  • Familiarity with current trends in sports entertainment and fan engagement.
