Director of Front Services (Transportation, Valet & Front Services)

Are you a dynamic hospitality leader with a passion for luxury service, operational excellence, and team development? Sycuan Resort Casino is seeking an experienced Director of Transportation, Valet & Front Services to oversee our Transportation, Valet, and Bell Desk operations. In this key leadership role, you will drive service excellence, develop high-performing teams, and ensure seamless guest experiences that reflect our commitment to AAA and Forbes-level hospitality standards.

Job Purpose:

Manages Transportation, Valet, and Bell Desk department operations and staff

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

(Note: Duties and responsibilities may be added, deleted, or changed at the sole discretion of Sycuan Management at any time)
  1. Maintains efficient operations of assigned departments by developing and implementing departmental policies, procedures, and practices, ensuring adequate staffing levels are maintained, identifying training needs, developing training plans in partnership with Hotel Training Manager, providing ongoing support and guidance to team members, and refining and improving operating standards as needed based on team feedback, guest input, and personal expertise. - 25%
  1. Enhances the overall guest experience and maximizes guest retention by ensuring service delivery and guest experience standards are maintained and enhanced as opportunities arise, developing team member commitment to creating positive guest experiences with an emphasis on superior service recovery, providing team members with on-going guidance and training opportunities as needed, collaborating with hotel leadership on service-related matters, and sharing feedback and recommendations to improve service.. - 25%
  2. Leads and develops team members by establishing a positive standard as a role model for others, fostering open communication and cooperation between management, team members, and departments, monitoring team member performance, providing team members with direct, constructive, and consistent feedback, ensuring performance evaluations are conducted according to established procedures, and taking corrective action as needed. - 20%
  3. Manages the financial performance of assigned departments bypreparing departmental budgets to include expense forecasts and cost control measures, identifying new opportunities for expense mitigation and capital improvement projects, establishing return-on-investment criteria, reviewing and monitoring monthly financial statements, and implementing additional strategies to achieve budgetary projections as needed. - 15%
  4. Hires qualified team members by communicating staffing needs and advertising requirements to Human Resources, and interviewing and selecting the best qualified candidates. - 15%

Job Specifications:

Education and Experience:

Essential:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Hospitality, Business, or related field; or equivalent work experience
  • 5 years of previous resort management experience to include Transportation, Bell, and/or Valet
  • Track record of consistent successful performance

Desirable:
  • Previous experience working in a similar resort setting

Skills and Knowledge:

Essential:
  • Ability to work with various programs, systems, and technology
  • Ability to understand departmental budgets and operating reports
  • Knowledge of AAA and Forbes service standards
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, demanding work environment
  • Ability to effectively communicate and interact with colleagues and business contacts
  • Ability to make sound decisions and solve complex problems
  • Ability to work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays as needed
  • Ability to maintain professionalism and composure
  • Ability to accept constructive criticism
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
