Position Overview

We are seeking a seasoned Director of Facilities to lead the Housekeeping and Engineering operations of our luxury hotel in Westchester County, NY. This dynamic leader will be responsible for maintaining exceptional standards of cleanliness, property condition, preventive maintenance, safety, and operational efficiency. The Director of Facilities will play a critical role in protecting the hotel's physical assets, enhancing the guest experience, and fostering a culture of service, quality, safety, and accountability. We are seeking an accomplished hotel leader with extensive Housekeeping and Engineering experience, strong financial and operational judgment, and a passion for luxury hospitality. Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide strategic and day-to-day leadership for the Housekeeping and Engineering departments.
  • Ensure guest rooms, public areas, back-of-house spaces, mechanical systems, and exterior areas consistently meet luxury hotel, company, and brand standards.
  • Conduct regular property inspections to identify and promptly address cleanliness, maintenance, safety, and presentation concerns.
  • Oversee the hotel's preventive maintenance program, including guest rooms, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, lighting, kitchen, laundry, pool, spa, and life-safety systems.
  • Ensure work orders, preventive maintenance, inspections, and repairs are completed promptly and properly documented.
  • Monitor Housekeeping productivity, room inspection results, guest feedback, cleanliness scores, labor costs, supplies, and inventory levels.
  • Develop and implement departmental standards, operating procedures, quality-control measures, and safety practices.
  • Respond proactively to guest feedback and resolve concerns involving cleanliness, room condition, maintenance, or safety.
  • Develop, manage, and monitor Housekeeping and Engineering budgets, labor expenses, utilities, repairs, supplies, and contracted services.
  • Oversee linen, terry, guest supplies, cleaning products, uniforms, tools, equipment, and departmental inventory controls.
  • Manage vendor and contractor relationships, review proposals, monitor performance, and ensure work is completed according to approved standards.
  • Partner with the General Manager and Executive Leadership Team on capital planning, renovations, equipment replacement, sustainability initiatives, and property improvement projects.
  • Recruit, train, coach, and develop Housekeeping and Engineering leaders and associates.
  • Establish clear performance expectations and promote a culture of accountability, teamwork, safety, and continuous improvement.
  • Ensure compliance with Marriott brand standards, company policies, OSHA requirements, fire and building codes, environmental regulations, and all applicable federal, state, and local laws.
  • Maintain required permits, inspection records, safety logs, warranties, equipment records, and regulatory documentation.
  • Support emergency preparedness, fire-life-safety, workplace safety, and risk-management programs.
  • Administer applicable company policies and collective bargaining agreement provisions in partnership with Human Resources.
  • Participate in grievance meetings, workplace investigations, and labor-management discussions when required.
  • Serve as Manager on Duty and respond to after-hours property emergencies as needed.


Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5-10 years of progressive leadership experience in hotel operations, with significant expertise overseeing Housekeeping, Engineering, facilities, or property operations.
  • Demonstrated success managing both Housekeeping and Engineering functions within a luxury, upscale, or full-service hotel environment.
  • Marriott brand experience strongly preferred.
  • Strong working knowledge of hotel cleanliness standards, preventive maintenance programs, building systems, life-safety requirements, and workplace safety practices.
  • Proven experience managing departmental budgets, labor costs, utilities, vendor contracts, capital projects, and operating expenses.
  • Experience working in a unionized hotel environment is preferred.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to recruit, develop, motivate, and hold teams accountable.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and an uncompromising commitment to property condition, cleanliness, quality, and guest service.
  • Strong communication, organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and respond calmly and effectively to operational emergencies.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and hotel work-order, purchasing, scheduling, and property-management systems.
  • Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Facilities Management, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
  • Relevant hospitality, engineering, or facilities-management certifications are preferred.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and after-hours emergencies, based on the hotel's operational needs.


For applicants who will be working in NYC, the anticipated compensation range for the position is $120,000.00- $125,000.00 annually; for applicants who will be working in New York, the anticipated compensation range for the position is $120,000.00 - $125,000.00 annually. The salary offered to a successful candidate will be dependent on several factors that may include but are not limited to years of experience within the job, years of experience within the required industry, education, work location, etc. Crescent Hotels is a multi-state employer, and the salary ranges indicated herein may not reflect positions that work only in other states.
