The Pennsylvania State University invites applications for the position of
Facilities Representative-Senior Supervisor (Director of Facilities). The Director of Facilities in the Eberly College of Science is responsible for all College facilities and the main point of contact with the Office of Physical Plant (OPP). As the primary point of contact with OPP, this position identifies needs for preventative maintenance, routine and major maintenance, janitorial services, energy/utility conservation and environmental compliance, along with furniture acquisition and all related budgets.
The Director is accountable for the safety and security of college spaces, along with coordinating facility planning initiatives (space usage, maintenance, alterations, or new construction) of laboratories, classrooms, mixed use spaces, and offices. Serves as safety officer for the college to develop and administer a comprehensive safety program in conjunction with the Environmental Health and Safety office; oversees key management individuals to implement safety programs in all departments and areas. This position oversees and may coordinate space assignments and changes in use for the college, which includes relocations and moves along with equipment inventory. Responsibilities also include serving as the College parking chair, in charge of staff and faculty parking allotment and the main point of contact with Transportation services. Hire, train, supervise and evaluate two staff positions and the technical service employes assigned to the office.
In addition to the above, other responsibilities of the Facilities Directors include:
- Coordinate and process all formal correspondence pertaining to renovation, new construction, maintenance, safety, environmental and relocation projects.
- Supervise Facilities Office staff. Delegate and assign tasks for office staff and technical service employees. Evaluate completed projects for confirmation that all work meets federal, state, university and college standards.
- Serve as primary safety coordinator for the college. Represent Eberly at all university safety council meetings to disseminate safety issues and updates throughout college. Liaison for the college to University Environmental Health and Safety for all issues, concerns, trainings, and emergency situations.
- Assure compliance with all related state and federal laws, University policies, specifically those relating to facilities and budget responsibilities.
- Work with the department and work unit facilities coordinators to assure updates are regularly made in LionSpace for the annual college space audit.

BACKGROUND CHECKS/CLEARANCESEmployment with the University will require successful completion of background check(s) in accordance with University policies. A valid driver's license and successful completion of a motor vehicle records check will be required in addition to standard background checks.

SALARY & BENEFITSThe salary range for this position, including all possible grades, is $68,200.00 - $102,300.00.
