Full Job Description
IEM is currently seeking a Director of Facilities & Maintenance and will report into the VP of Real Estate and Workplace Service. The Director of Facilities & Maintenance is responsible for overseeing the strategic management of all facility operations, maintenance, and improvements across multiple locations. This role involves leadership in budgeting, vendor management, compliance, sustainability, and ensuring the efficient and safe functioning of all facilities.

Please note: This role is primarily office-based in Fremont, CA with regular site visits, and the ability to travel regularly (30-40%) to visit facilities nationwide.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the overall facilities strategy, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
  • Manage and mentor a team of facilities professionals, ensuring high performance and development.
  • Develop and manage facilities CapEx and OpEx budgets, identifying cost-saving opportunities while maintaining operational efficiency and supporting long-term infrastructure planning.
  • Oversee vendor relationships, negotiate contracts, and ensure service quality and compliance.
  • Ensure all building systems and production equipment are properly maintained through proactive preventive maintenance, repairs, upgrades, and reliability programs.
  • Ensure adherence to safety regulations, environmental standards, and building codes across all facilities.
  • Drive energy efficiency and sustainability programs to minimize operational costs and environmental impact.
  • Oversee facility-related projects, including relocations, renovations, and capital improvements.

Supervision of Personnel
  • This role will lead multiple teams, nationally, and will direct multiple other managers, leads and supervisors.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years in facilities management, with 5+ years in senior leadership role.

Preferred
  • Master's degree in Facilities Management, Business Administration, or related field.

Compensation actually offered for this role will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate's geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
