Director of Environmental Services
Full Time: Monday - Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Pay Range: $95,000 - $110,000 Annually
Summary:
Directs and coordinates activities of workers engaged in environmental services of the facility, including repair, refurbishment and maintenance of the physical structure, housekeeping and custodial services and landscape/grounds maintenance by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors and managers.
Detailed responsibilities:
* Director of Environmental Services
- Provides quality Customer Service efficiently to residents, families, co-workers and vendors in a manner to ensure satisfaction
- Directs maintenance activities on utility and communications systems to provide heat, steam, electric power, gas, air, HVAC, telephone, fire alarms, and emergency alert
- Confers with management, engineering consultants and quality control personnel to resolve environmental service problems and recommend measures to improve and maintain operations and conditions within the facility
- Responsible for implementation of an integrated waste management program including infectious and biohazardous waste disposal, recycling and waste prevention programs
- Plans, develops and implements new methods and procedures designed to improve operations, minimize operating costs, and effect greater utilization of labor and materials
- Reviews production, quality control, and operating reports and statistics to plan and modify environmental service activities
- Develops preventative maintenance program in conjunction with engineering and maintenance staff
- Directs training and departmental orientation of workers to improve work performance and acquaint workers with company policies and procedures
- Prepares department budget, reviews financial transactions and monitors projected expenditures of funds to ensure efficient operation and to ensure expenditures stay within budget limitations
- Develops working relationships with outside vendors, consultants, Front Porch engineering and maintenance directors from other Front Porch facilities to strive for efficient operations and a high standard of performance for environmental services of the facility
- Directly or indirectly supervises managers and other supervisory staff in building services/housekeeping services and landscape services Responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws include interviewing, hiring, training, counseling and terminating employees; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems
- Attends and participates in department head meetings, refurbishment meetings, and other meetings as assigned
- Follows highest standards of cleanliness
- Follows and ensures department safety standards, practice body mechanic techniques and participate in campus-wide safety programs
- Follows all federal, state and company policies, health codes and guidelines
- Performs all duties in a safe and efficient manner Wears PPE/safety equipment as required for the job Reports any safety hazards and/or accidents to supervisor
- Attends all mandatory in-service meetings Complies with all department and facilities policies and procedures

* 4+ Years of Facilities, Housekeeping and Maintenance experience, or related experience
