Your Role at KIK

The Director of Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) is responsible for leading the strategic direction, implementation, and continuous improvement of environmental, health, safety, and process safety management (PSM) programs across multiple manufacturing facilities. Based in Lake Charles, Louisiana, this role provides direct EHS leadership for the Lake Charles site while overseeing Process Safety Management (OSHA PSM) and Risk Management Plan (EPA RMP) programs for up to six manufacturing facilities across the United States.

This hands-on leadership role requires a seasoned EHS professional with deep expertise in OSHA PSM, EPA RMP, environmental compliance, occupational health and safety, and regulatory compliance within the chemical manufacturing industry. The Director will lead the local EHS team, partner closely with site and operations leadership, and drive standardized EHS management systems and best practices across the organization. Reporting to the Vice President of EHS, this individual will play a critical role in strengthening regulatory compliance, operational excellence, sustainability, and security while fostering a proactive, safety-first culture throughout KIK's manufacturing network.

What You'll Do

  • Lead and manage the EHS team, including recruitment, training, development, and performance oversight
  • Develop and implement environmental programs for air quality, permitting, waste management, water management, spill prevention, and resource conservation
  • Oversee environmental remediation projects and drive waste reduction strategies
  • Create and execute plans to enhance divisional environmental programs and compliance
  • Provide technical expertise on EHS matters and ensure regulatory compliance
  • Set and achieve EHS objectives while optimizing resource allocation
  • Oversee incident reporting, investigations, recordkeeping, and worker's compensation claims
  • Ensure timely follow-up on corrective and preventive actions
  • Manage process safety, risk management, and security programs
  • Implement and maintain environmental, health, safety, and sustainability program
  • Ensure effective EHS communication and reporting across all sites
  • Lead emergency preparedness and response efforts


What You'll Bring

  • Bachelor's degree required, preferably in Environmental Science or Chemistry
  • 10+ years of EHS compliance experience in manufacturing with a proven track record of continuous improvement
  • Minimum 5 years of process safety experience including direct PSM/RMP leadership
  • Minimum 5 years of leadership experience managing and developing EHS teams
  • Strong knowledge of federal, state/provincial, and local EHS regulations
  • Multi-site experience strongly preferred
  • Certifications such as CSP or CHMM are a plus
  • Experience with hazardous chemicals, PSM, RMP, E2, and CFATS
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); experience with Benchmark Gensuite preferred
  • Travel up to 50-60% for onsite support; based at a manufacturing site when not traveling
  • 24/7 Emergency Response Lead, serving as the primary contact for EHS emergencies, ensuring swift incident response and resolution
