Overview

The Director of Corporate and Community Partners Program will support the College's APEX vision (Applied, Professional, and Experiential), a learning ecosystem that connects an applied liberal arts education with real-world experiences and career preparation by growing the College's corporate partners program.

The position will strategically build partnerships with for-profit and non-profit organizations that advance the College's goals, generate revenue, strengthen APEX, and develop regional talent pipelines. The position will cultivate corporate engagement through sponsorships, volunteerism, in-kind support, advocacy, and other opportunities while developing relationships that support companies' talent needs in the recruitment, development, and retention of their workforce.

Additionally, the individual will play a vital role in the business development side of APEX, actively seeking partners to host students during Experiential Learning Week, drive new opportunities for internships and early career roles, collaborate with the Career Development Office, and more. This position will have significant interaction with the Provost's Office of the College, while still reporting through advancement.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the formation and execution of the inaugural Corporate and Community Partners Program (CCPP).
  • Work closely with the Vice President for External Relations to manage the President's Corporate and Community Partners Committee, including regular attendance at quarterly meetings, formal recording of the minutes, agenda planning, and coordination between meetings.
  • Work with the Advancement staff and key campus partners (admissions, athletics, careers, Uimagine, and service learning) to identify alumni and friends of the College with influence at corporations, and other organizations whose priorities align with the College to grow partnerships with a specific focus on alumni and parents in c-suite positions.
  • Collaborate with relevant campus partners to craft individual strategies for corporate partners. Keep a list of the Top 25 CCPP prospects and actively cultivate, solicit, and steward those organizations.
  • Develop and maintain regular stewardship reporting for corporate partners in the program.
  • Executes strategies for corporate partnerships to meet revenue and engagement goals, including the pursuit of new opportunities, cultivating, solicitations, and stewarding new and existing relationships, and implementation of events (Experiential Learning Week, a workforce event, and CCPP recognition event).
  • Collaborate with campus partners to develop innovative, industry-responsive partnerships, events, and targeted engagements for faculty, staff, alumni, and students. Events and engagements should support APEX, recruitment and retention of students, career and professional development, and service learning.
  • Organizes meetings both on-campus and off-campus as part of relationship management.
  • Seek out opportunities to engage senior leadership and the President with key CCPP participants, including looking for ways to engage at the board level.
  • Enforce CCPP branding and promote partnerships and program messaging per branding guidelines , working closely with Marketing and Communications.
  • Supports the college's strategy with key foundations, especially corporate foundations. Oversees and leads the development of proposals and reports - including concept development, letters of inquiry, project planning, and writing to a final copy.
  • Participate heavily in campus events that support the APEX vision, such as employing student workers, providing sessions during ELW, etc.
  • Represent the college in the region with key corporate and community prospects.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Strong attention to detail and highest commitment to accuracy and thoroughness
  • Ability to successfully manage multiple priorities, produce quality work, and meet deadlines
  • Strong project management and planning skills as well as the ability to navigate multiple, competing deadlines
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as a member of a team
  • A valid driver's license and use of a car
  • Ability to sit for extended periods at personal computer performing related functions
  • Availability and flexibility to travel in the Greater Philadelphia region, as needed
  • Ability to work evenings and/or weekends, occasionally if necessary

Departmental Accountabilities:

Works collaboratively with colleagues and team members in the Advancement Office and throughout the College. Participates in Advancement Office meetings and other key College staff meetings.

Understands the importance of building a culture of philanthropy.

Possesses knowledge and experience with computer programs that support the Advancement Department including Microsoft Office programs.
