Responsibilities

Meridell Achievement Center is a 134-bed, seclusion free, psychiatric residential treatment facility located northwest of Austin. Our 60-acre campus is complete with mature oaks, rolling hills, and plenty of walking paths and outdoor spaces. We have 7 unique living units separated by gender, age, and development needs with a swimming pool, gymnasium, sports court and playing fields. We provide 24-hour psychiatric care to girls and boys ages 10 to 17 years old with customized therapeutic approaches and intensive behavioral programs to teach young patients to moderate their behavior, manage emotions and improve social functioning.

The Director of Clinical Services provides leadership and strategic planning of the clinical services and programs offered at the facility, ensuring programs meet the needs of the community and the facility's performance goals and objectives. Responsibilities include the overall administrative processes and management systems for all clinical services offered at the facility, promotion and maintenance of a therapeutic environment, and development and implementation of clinical treatment programs. Provides direct supervision for clinical and recreational therapists.

Qualifications

Education/Training:
  • Master's degree in social work, Clinical Psychology or related field.

Experience:
  • Minimum of five (5) years' experience in an inpatient psychiatric setting with child and adolescent populations including experience in program development and implementation.
  • Minimum of five (5) years' experience supervising and coaching clinical staff.

Licensure/Certification:
  • Current State of Texas license as a LCSW or LPC required
  • Licensed as Child Care Administrator under TDFPS.
  • Current driver license.

Knowledge and Skills:
  • A strong knowledge of The Joint Commission regulations and all other applicable federal and state laws and regulations governing mental health care facilities.
  • Strong leadership and management skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and analytical skills.
  • Maintain confidentiality of patient and employee information.
