The Director of Clinical Operations & Strategy is responsible for overseeing the strategic development, implementation, and performance of Fort HealthCare clinics throughout our service area. This role integrates digital solutions, population health strategies, and personnel management to optimize patient outcomes, improve patient access, and reduce operational cost.
Responsibilities of this position include:
- Directs operations of clinic sites to ensure efficient, high-quality patient care, as well as the monitoring and improvement of clinic workflow, staffing models, and patient throughput. This is accomplished through the effective supervision, coaching, and training of the Executive Manager of Clinic Operations, the Director of Rehabilitation Services and Clinic Managers.
- Establishes and tracks key performance indicators for clinical quality, patient outcomes, and operational efficiency in the clinics. Collaborates with the Executive Manager of Clinic Operations, the Director of Rehabilitation Services and Clinic Managers to implement best practices that enhance the patient experience and access to care.
- Oversees clinic budget development, financial performance, and resource allocation.
- Collaborates with the executive team to strategize clinical development, focusing on current demands and future growth, including the proposal of new or modified service lines, based on the needs of the service area.
- Contributes to the design & implementation of digital initiatives to improve patient care and operational efficiency, as well as the process improvement efforts around existing digital components. Partners with technical and professional specialists to propose innovative digital ideas focused on improving patient outcomes and provider productivity, while ensuring systems are secure and compliant with HIPPAA & other regulatory standards.
- Drives collaboration and fosters communication between the executive team, physicians, and providers, developing relationships that promote a high-performing environment.
- Partners with the Chief Executive Officer in the development of physician and provider compensation models, ensuring alignment with market trends and organizational goals. Analyzes national and regional physician and provider compensation data using various databases.
- Develops and executes population health strategies aligned with organizational goals. Analyzes population health data to identify trends, gaps in care, and opportunities for improvement.
- Coordinates with the Executive Manager of Clinic Operations to meet Rural Health Clinic requirements and maximize shared savings from the ACO and other payers.
- Partners with executive team, clinical leaders, physicians, APPs, and nursing leaders, to align operational and clinical goals, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and patient-centered care, promoting evidence-based practices across clinics, and throughout the organization.
- Ensures compliance with regulatory standards, accreditation requirements, and organizational policies, in collaboration with the Executive Manager of Clinic Operations. This includes coordinating efforts to meet Joint Commission standards and Center for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) requirements.
Requirements of this position include:
- Master's degree or Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) required
- Master's degree in business administration, healthcare administration, or clinically related field preferred
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive leadership experience in healthcare operations, population health, or ambulatory care
- Proven track record of improving clinical and operational performance
- Experience with value-based care models and quality programming models
- 5-10 years of progressive leadership experience in healthcare operations, population health, or ambulatory care
- Strong leadership and team management skills
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement abilities; excels at communicating with culturally, educationally, financially & generationally diverse populations
- Cognitive processes to function calmly using critical thinking to quickly assess & respond to complex rapidly changing situations
- Expertise in population health analytics and care management strategies
- Knowledge of healthcare regulations, quality metrics, and reimbursement models
- Financial acumen and budget management experience
- Proficiency with EHR systems and data analytics tools
- Attention to detail balanced with the ability to see the broad vision, and understanding of how both views relate
- Ability to self-motivate, work independently and function productively as a team member
- Strong computer skills, including proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office products
- Valid WI Driver's License
- FACHE (Fellow of American College of Healthcare Executives) preferred
- CMPE (Certified Medical Practice Executive) preferred
