Full Job Description
The Director of Christwood Foundation provides vision and strategic leadership tothe Christwood Foundation; communicates a consistent mission-centered focus toboard members, staff, residents, community partners and volunteers; serves asthe symbol / face of the Foundation; ensures sound financial operations,accountability and stewardship; and works to successfully engage the communityin realizing the creation of a culture for high performance philanthropy,development, and fundraising.

The Director of Christwood Foundation will fosterand elevate the culture of philanthropy for both internal and externalconstituencies including board members, directors, staff, residents, donors andmajor prospects. Helpsassure that the organization's corporate culture, systems and procedures supportthe culture of philanthropy, the fund development process and vice versa. Leadsstaff and volunteers to institutionalize philanthropy and fund developmentwithin the organization. Plans, coordinates and assures the implementation ofstrategies to develop donors and contributions to support the organization.

Assuresdevelopment and maintenance of appropriate fund development systems includingbut not limited to volunteer and donor management, research and cultivation,gift processing and recognition. Maintains accountability and compliancestandards for donors and funding sources. Leadsand facilitates the process to solidify the infrastructure of the Foundation [mission, vision, board, financial,management, and operational (board and development) policies and procedures]and the Foundation's Case for Support. Develops and implements a donor-centeredprospect pipeline and "stage-gate" management system for major gift and plannedgift prospect identification, engagement, cultivation, solicitation andstewardship. Create personalized engagement strategies to maximize donorinteraction, engagement and financial support. Work collaboratively and strategically with the Chief Executive Officer,board members, Christwood staff and volunteers to leverage relationships andcontacts within the Christwood community and community at-large.

Qualifications:
  • College degree, advanced degree or CFRE preferred.
  • 5 years non-profit fund raising / development; 3 years in a key leadership/management role in a non-profit fundraising setting.
  • Extensive knowledge of foundation management, fundraising principles, programs, and volunteer management. Extensive experience and success in planned giving, major gifts, special events management, stewardship and volunteer management. Extensive knowledge of endowment building, fund accounting and analysis. Working knowledge of gift processing and gift acknowledgement.
  • Proficient in public speaking and presentation skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including applications in WORD, EXCEL and POWERPOINT.
