Position Overview

Shangri-La is seeking a strategic and data-driven Director of Brand Commercialization to lead the commercialization and product planning strategy across our cultivation, manufacturing, wholesale, and retail operations.

This leadership role owns the full product lifecycle-from demand forecasting and product launches to inventory optimization, production planning, and portfolio management. The ideal candidate is highly analytical, thrives in cross-functional environments, and has a proven ability to translate market demand into operational execution while maximizing profitability and customer satisfaction.

What You'll Do
Commercialization & Product Strategy
  • Lead commercialization for all new product launches across multiple markets.
  • Develop and execute go-to-market strategies in partnership with cultivation, manufacturing, marketing, retail, and wholesale teams.
  • Manage launch timelines and ensure cross-functional readiness.
  • Evaluate customer trends, market opportunities, and competitive activity to optimize the product portfolio.
  • Drive continuous improvement of product assortment through new product development, SKU optimization, and lifecycle management.
Demand Planning & Forecasting
  • Develop accurate weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual demand forecasts.
  • Analyze historical sales, seasonality, promotions, wholesale demand, and market trends.
  • Translate forecasts into production, purchasing, and inventory plans.
  • Continuously improve forecasting processes and accuracy.
  • Support budgeting and long-term business planning through demand modeling.
Inventory & Supply Planning
  • Develop inventory strategies that balance product availability with operational efficiency.
  • Monitor inventory health, aging inventory, inventory turns, and service levels.
  • Identify and proactively manage stockouts, excess inventory, slow-moving products, and obsolete inventory.
  • Partner with cultivation and manufacturing teams to align production schedules with demand forecasts.
  • Coordinate inventory allocation across retail, wholesale, and new market expansions.
Cross-Functional Leadership
  • Lead Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) meetings.
  • Coordinate forecasting assumptions related to promotions, pricing, seasonality, and product launches.
  • Communicate inventory risks, supply constraints, and commercialization priorities to leadership.
  • Build alignment across departments to ensure successful product execution.
Analytics & Business Performance
  • Develop executive dashboards and KPIs related to forecasting, inventory, product availability, profitability, and service levels.
  • Analyze sales performance, inventory utilization, and product profitability.
  • Provide strategic recommendations to improve revenue growth and operational efficiency.
  • Utilize ERP, POS, inventory management, forecasting, and business intelligence tools to support executive decision-making.
  • Present commercialization performance and strategic insights to senior leadership.
What We're Looking For
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Operations, Finance, Marketing, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 7+ years of experience in commercialization, demand planning, supply chain, inventory management, category management, or related business functions.
  • 3+ years of leadership experience managing cross-functional teams or strategic initiatives.
  • Strong analytical and financial acumen with advanced Excel and business intelligence skills.
  • Experience with forecasting, inventory planning, ERP systems, and data analysis.
  • Exceptional communication, organizational, and project management skills.
  • Ability to influence stakeholders across multiple departments and levels of leadership.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in cannabis, CPG, manufacturing, food & beverage, pharmaceutical, or consumer products industries.
  • Experience leading Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) processes.
  • Familiarity with Power BI or similar business intelligence platforms.
  • Experience supporting multi-state or multi-location operations.
