The Director of Admissions Operations is a key member of the undergraduate admissions team, reporting to the Executive Director of Admissions. The Director of Operations provides strategic vision and leadership for undergraduate admissions operations, including the development, innovation, and maintenance of the admissions CRM (Slate), application processing systems, and related technology and database management.
Key Responsibilities:- Leadership & Strategic Direction
- Provide leadership and direction for admissions operations, serving as the primary driver of operational strategy, quality assurance, and continuous improvement
- Develop and implement methods to improve staff efficiency through process design, technology innovation, and data-informed decision-making
- Lead efforts focused on increased efficiency, quality assurance, and scalability across all operational functions
- Represent Undergraduate Admissions on various campus committees and with external stakeholders
- Assist with the planning and development of admissions events
- Training & Professional Development
- Facilitate training and professional development for admissions, recruitment, and enrollment staff
- Supervise, mentor, and develop Operations team members
- Provide technical leadership, services, support, and training to the broader Undergraduate Admissions team
- Systems & Technology
- Oversee the development, innovation, management, and maintenance of the undergraduate admissions CRM (Slate by Technolutions)
- Oversee the integrations, maintenance, and testing of the campus-wide student information system (Banner) for undergraduate admissions
- Create and maintain business processes involving system-tracked information, including admission inquiries, applications, campus visits, college fairs, high school visits, application review, and decision notification
This is a fully in-person position located at Binghamton University's main campus in Vestal, NY.
Requirements: - Bachelor's Degree
- At least 5 years of progressive experience in admissions
- Advanced knowledge and experience with a CRM system (e.g., Slate, Salesforce)
- Experience with a Student Information System (e.g., Banner, PeopleSoft)
- Demonstrated managerial and leadership skills, including experience supervising and developing staff
- Strategic planning experience, with the ability to translate operational goals into actionable processes
- Quantitative and analytical ability
- Demonstrated ability to plan, organize, and prioritize multiple tasks and projects simultaneously
- Organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to adapt to changing expectations and responsibilities, including occasional evening and weekend availability
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and safeguard records
- Demonstrated ability to lead and communicate with diverse teams
Preferred:
- Master's Degree
- Familiarity with programming languages (e.g., SQL, R), data warehouses, and/or relational databases
