Full Job Description
We are seeking a highly experienced Director of Accounting to lead the financial operations of our growing property management portfolio within RHOME, Associa's rental property management division. This role requires a hands-on leader with deep expertise in property accounting, strong operational oversight, and a commitment to accuracy in a fast-paced, client-focused environment. The ideal candidate brings a solid foundation in cash basis accounting and experience managing financials across multiple properties and clients.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee all accounting functions related to property management, including general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, bank reconciliations, and owner distributions
  • Manage and mentor the accounting team -both onsite and virtual-, ensuring high performance, accountability and professional development
  • Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting for property owners using cash basis accounting
  • Lead month-end and year-end close processes across multiple properties and entities
  • Maintain and enforce internal controls, ensuring compliance with industry standards and company policies
  • Prepare and review owner statements, financial packages, and performance reports
  • Manage multiple priorities and deadlines, ensuring timely delivery financial reporting and operational support
  • Identify and implement process improvements, leveraging technology and best practices to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
  • Oversee trust accounts and ensure proper handling of client funds
  • Utilize AppFolio software to manage accounting workflows, reporting, and data integrity
  • Develop, train and educate accounting policies, procedures and internal controls to support scalable growth.
