Dycom's Director, Mergers & Acquisitions will be responsible for managing new deals from negotiation through integration. They will manage risk by conducting thorough financial and operational analysis of potential deals, working with internal and external stakeholders, and ensuring project timelines and deliverables are met.

What you'll do

  • Partner with the Executive Leadership Team on the development and execution of the company's growth strategy.
  • Lead the assessment of the strategic fit of a business by analyzing all aspects of a transaction, project managing the deal cycle, supporting negotiations, and conducting financial modeling
  • Project manage the transaction by driving timelines, ensuring quality on deliverables, and managing internal partners and advisors to ensure transaction milestones are met
  • Must understand the key business drivers as well as predict, identify, and manage key issues and risks throughout negotiation and integration
  • Lead cross-functional teams through the due diligence process including completion of financial analysis of all relevant data, target company's current management, and operational structure. Ensure issues are identified and addressed
  • Lead negotiations as Dycom's representative, accountable for delivery of the final transaction within the parameters established by executive management
  • Support efforts to structure the deal including negotiation of an equitable agreement, employee contracts, financing and future liabilities. Responsible for assigning value to target companies based on asset worth and comparable worth of similar companies
  • Responsible for coordination via cross functional teams of end to end integration of target company into Dycom after deal has been executed
  • Manages integration process including delegating to workstream owners, tracking deliverables and deadlines, as well as cross-dependencies. Provides clear updates to executive leadership about integration progress, timelines, and status
  • Develops best practices for M&A team including continuous improvement of processes within the function, and debriefing lessons learned following each transaction


What you'll need

  • To be 18 years of age or older
  • Authorization to work in the United States for this company
  • Bachelor's degree in finance or related field, or equivalent work experience. Preference of MBA or Master's degree in Finance or related field.
  • CFA or CPA Qualification preferred
  • Minimum 10+ years' experience in an M&A, investment banking, or corporate development
  • Sell-side M&A experience preferred
  • Experience leading projects from negotiation through integration
  • Demonstrated communication, presentation, and project management skills
  • Proven ability to produce high quality and impactful professional documents for clients and internal use
  • Experience working in telecommunications, construction, or related industries


Physical abilities & exposures

Routinely: Engage in standard office activities such as standing, sitting, and using computers for extended periods.

Occasionally: Travel domestically up to 30% to collaborate with subsidiary teams, attend team meetings, and occasionally support cross-functionally.
