As a Portfolio Leader, you will serve as the General Manager, Product Growth Team (PGT) leader, and Value Stream leader for Trane's $1.5 Billion Light Commercial Unitary equipment portfolio. At a Director-level, you'll set strategic direction, guide investment allocation, and analyze market conditions while spearheading cross-functional and cross-business unit collaboration to serve customers across multiple channels with innovative products and services that drive dramatic growth.

In this pivotal role, you will have direct responsibility for collaborating closely with Trane Residential and Trane Supply business units to maximize channel reach, optimize customer solutions, and deliver seamless commercial execution. You'll coach and develop the Product Management team in lifecycle management, while overseeing the planning, deployment, and execution of critical programs and projects through proven project management methodology. Your impact will be felt in accelerated revenue growth, market share expansion, customer loyalty, and the achievement of transformational business objectives across our unitary equipment and services portfolio.

What you will do:

Portfolio Leadership & Strategy
  • Own the $1.5 Billion Light Commercial Unitary portfolio P&L across channels and markets, establishing and executing ambitious multi-year growth strategies for all unitary equipment product lines and associated lifecycle services to drive dramatic growth.
  • Lead strategic collaboration with Trane Residential and Trane Supply business units to align product architectures, leverage supply chain scale, and serve customers seamlessly across multiple distribution channels.
  • Serve customers across diverse channels-including Trane Commercial direct sales offices, independent wholesale distributors, Trane Supply store networks, and national commercial accounts-tailoring product offerings and service delivery to unique channel requirements.
  • Guide product line teams in investment prioritization, resource allocation, and development of multi-generational product and technology plans (MGPP/MGTP) using disciplined portfolio and innovation management tools to deliver market-leading unitary equipment and service solutions.
  • Leverage customer insights, competitive intelligence, and market data to drive differentiated, high-efficiency products (including rooftop units, split systems, heat pumps, and connected controls) and elevate customer lifecycle experience.
  • Partner across the enterprise with Operations, Engineering, Sales, Marketing, Supply Chain, and Customer Experience to achieve sustainability commitments, regulatory and refrigerant compliance, and optimal commercial execution.

Strategic Program & Project Delivery
  • Plan, direct, and coordinate a high-impact portfolio of new product development (NPD), capacity expansion, and service innovation projects from inception through commercial launch, ensuring strict adherence to project scope, timeline, quality, and budget.
  • Oversee program and project managers-providing coaching, strategic support, and executive escalation for critical deliverables and cross-business unit initiatives.
  • Ensure best-in-class adherence to company project management methodology, tools, and governance routines (e.g., stage-gate development, program structuring, resourcing, risk mitigation, and business benefit realization).
  • Develop, socialize, and communicate comprehensive portfolio roadmaps, project milestones, and growth progress with executive leadership and cross-business unit stakeholders.

Team Leadership & Talent Development
  • Lead, mentor, and inspire a geographically dispersed team of 3-5+ Product Managers and functional support resources across the Light Commercial Unitary portfolio, fostering talent acquisition, employee development, engagement, and retention.
  • Onboard and coach team members in strategic product management, commercial acumen, and customer-centric innovation, building a high-performance, collaborative, and inclusive culture.
  • Align team members around a shared growth vision, cultivate a winning mindset, and facilitate productive, cross-business unit collaboration at senior leadership levels within Trane Commercial, Residential, and Supply.

Process Excellence & Innovation
  • Champion continuous process improvement through Lean Six Sigma, Agile, or PMP approaches to accelerate innovation speed-to-market for unitary equipment and digital/connected service solutions.
  • Manage and implement program changes, value engineering (VAVE), and strategic interventions to ensure business objectives, margin targets, and customer benefits are fully realized.
  • Drive consensus among key stakeholders across Trane Commercial, Trane Residential, and Trane Supply, resolve channel conflicts constructively, and dynamically adapt strategies based on market feedback and customer needs.
