General Summary:The Director, Leadership and Organizational Development will lead a broad set of forward-thinking development and organizational strategies that will support the attraction, retention and growth opportunities of team members and future team members at Bayhealth. The Director, Leadership and Organizational Development will also lead Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging (DEIB) and will support Health Equity (HE) initiatives. The Director, Leadership and Organizational Development will partner with internal and external stakeholders to provide strategic, professional and managerial support for system diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives, including but not limited to helping to formulate strategies as well as offering mentorship, support and expertise. The Director, Leadership and Organizational Development will review and create diversity, equity and inclusion programming and determine industry best practices for achieving diversity and parity; data management and analysis; and client and community interface, DEIB/HE programming; and administrative support. The Director, Leadership and Organizational Development is a key driver towards building an equitable, sustainable and engaged team member experience for Bayhealth team members.
The Director will have responsibility for the strategy and operations of leadership and team member development, team member recognition, succession planning, training and orientation, organizational development assessments of current and future talent as well as organizational development and effectiveness. The Director, Leadership and Organizational Development will also create, implement and launch new programs that meet the training and upskilling needs, business strategies and anticipate appropriate responses to talent development and retention trends. In that vein, the Director is responsible for the creation and execution of programming and talent development strategies to ensure a diverse, collaborative, innovative, and mission-focused workforce.
The Director is responsible for the creation, planning and execution of programming, and training and development opportunities that will span the entire life cycle of a team member at Bayhealth, which includes, but is not limited to, the oversight, design and implementation of new hire orientation, training and development, team member engagement, workplace culture, recognition programs, DEIB/HE, and succession planning. The Director will lead team member progression plans to enable participation in high-quality career paths and development opportunities, while working in lockstep with the key department stakeholders to ensure consistency of process, communication, and branding.
Responsibilities:1. Leads, directs and manages all aspects of leadership and team member development, understanding the business, culture, engagement and talent needs.
2. Designs and oversees implementation of leadership and organizational development solutions with high impact instructional materials, in-depth business client engagement, program facilitation, coaching and relationship management.
3. Manages and leads the Team Member and Provider/Clinician Engagement surveys including post survey action planning and efforts. Manages and leads acclimation, onboarding and exit survey process to identify means to improve the workplace culture and experience.
4. Develops and delivers innovative, interactive, varied platforms and training and development methodologies including large and small group facilitation, in person and virtual instructor led sessions, assessment debriefs, individual coaching / executive coaching, and integration of speakers and outside experts. Locations will be diverse, and business and client dependent. Leads our LDI (Leadership Development Institute) efforts and all other leadership and team development programs.
5. Oversees the development of analytic-based goals and objectives, metric-based reporting, and business-driven solutions. Maintains, creates and analyzes department data and metrics necessary for creating strategic programming for the team member experience.
6. Ensures partnership with the business to define strategic objectives and talent development/succession planning needs.
7. Supports the talent acquisition team with our selection process by identifying and/or holding credentials to assist with leadership and candidate selection through various OD assessment tools like Hogan or other identified tools.
8. Oversees operational change management, which includes but is not limited to, supporting and enhancing the health of an organization when there are changes to the routine operational workforce, reporting structure, downsizing, acquisitions or business processes. May include, but not limited to, process and systems related to performance management, diversity and inclusion, team member wellness, patient satisfaction, team member engagement, and organizational performance.
9. Partners with Marketing & Communications to lead team member recognition and celebration programs and initiatives.
10. Creates an integrated service delivery model through leadership, training, and organizational development.
11. Plans, maintains, and directs the operation of the Leadership and Organizational budget and contracts to ensure compliance.
12. Works closely with internal and external stakeholders to help devise a strategic DEIB/HE plan for Bayhealth in alignment with overall system goals.
13. Responsible for the implementation of Bayhealth's programs and key initiatives and the development and implementation of DEIB curricula and programming.
14. Partners with the Director, Employee Relations & HR Regulatory Compliance, Director, Talent Acquisition, and Director, Total Rewards to help recruit, retain and engage diverse staff in alignment with the organization's goals.
15. Builds trusted relationships with our diverse team member population to assist them in their development by providing career support and actionable feedback. In addition, the Director must familiarize themselves with the surrounding communities to understand the diversity among those we serve. The intent is to utilize this information to enhance our patients' experiences and make us a destination care provider.
16. Serves as a stakeholder in support of the department-wide Health Equity Initiatives.
17. All other duties as assigned within the scope and range of job responsibilities.
Required Education, Credential(s) and Experience:- Education: Bachelor Degree Human Resources Management Or a Bachelor's Degree in a business-related field of study.

- Experience:
Required: 5 years' progressive experience in strategizing leadership development and workforce management (recruitment, development, retention). Prior leadership experience of leading and directing teams at the supervisor, manager or director level.
Appropriate and comprehensive experience in talent acquisition, workforce strategy, organizational development and change management. Proven experience implementing a multi-faceted / enterprise strategic workforce planning program, inclusive of forecasting and action planning. Experience leading well-performing, action-driven teams.
