SUMMARY:
The Principal/Counselor serves as the instructional leader and primary student services coordinator for the JC/LISD Academy. Responsibilities are divided approximately equally between school leadership and counseling services, supporting school operations, student achievement, staff supervision, and school improvement while helping students achieve their academic, career, and postsecondary goals through collaboration with families, staff, local districts, colleges, and community partners.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Required: - Master's degree in educational leadership, School Counseling, or related field.
- Valid Michigan School Counselor License or Michigan Teaching Certificate with School Counselor endorsement.
- Minimum five years of successful educational experience, including teaching, counseling, or educational leadership.
Preferred: - Experience with Early College, Middle College, Dual Enrollment, Career and Technical Education, or Postsecondary Partnerships.
- Experience in both educational leadership and student counseling.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, and REGISTRATIONS - Valid Michigan teaching certificate
- Applicable administrative certification or eligibility to obtain appropriate administrative certification.
