Job Description

The Director IT, Strategic Initiatives will work to drive a portfolio of cross-functional programs focused on delivering critical business outcomes for Honeywell's Process Technology SBG. The leader will partner closely with the PT IT M&A Integration Leader to support planning, governance, execution, and value realization across inorganic growth opportunities including acquisitions, divestitures, and joint ventures. The role will lead value realization and enablement workstreams throughout the lifecycle of these activities and be responsible for delivering results through strong execution against the value thesis. In addition, this leader will work cross-business to develop PT IT's strategic 3-5-year plan (budget, benefits, core pillars). The leader will drive governance and strategy deployment activities under this plan including workshops, action plans, and metrics reviews to ensure IT delivers on its business commitments. This leader will report to the Sr. Director of Business Transformation and IT Strategy and will work closely with the Process Technology Chief Information Officer and other executive stakeholders.

Responsibilities

M&A Technology Enablement & Execution Support
  • Partner closely with the PT IT Integration Leader to support IT due diligence, integration, and separation activities across PT transactions.
  • Assist in translating deal theses and value cases into metrics and structured IT execution plans aligned to synergy capture, growth objectives, and risk management.
  • Coordinate with Corporate Development, Finance, Enterprise IT, and PT functional leaders to support assessment of technology risks, synergies, and integration complexity for inorganic opportunities.
  • Ensure alignment of applications, data, infrastructure, OT, and cybersecurity approaches with PT strategies and Enterprise IT standards.
  • Provide clear, fact-based visibility into synergy realization, cost, risk, and execution health for PT and enterprise leadership.
  • Support the refinement and ongoing use of a standardized M&A IT playbook, tools, and governance mechanisms aligned to Honeywell operating principles.
  • Assist with the management of a portfolio of concurrent M&A and PT transformation initiatives, focusing on prioritization, value realization, dependency management, and execution discipline.
  • Establish and maintain KPIs, dashboards, and reporting to track and escalate execution health, value delivery, and risk trends.
  • Enable effective cross-functional coordination across PT businesses, Enterprise IT domains, and external partners.
    CIO Office Strategic Operations
  • Act as a trusted advisor and operational extension of the PT CIO, helping ensure strategic priorities are clearly defined, communicated, and executed.
  • Drive elements of the CIO operating rhythm, including AOP, Strap, staff meetings, operating reviews, business reviews, and executive communications.
  • Support annual CIO budgeting and forecasting processes, including defining budget ownership vs. tracking, managing CapEx/OpEx planning and spend visibility, and overseeing benefits realization.
  • Lead ongoing application rationalization and technical landscape assessments to maintain an up-to-date view of the PT IT environment, identify simplification opportunities, and inform priorities and investment decisions.
  • Translate enterprise and SBG strategies into actionable IT priorities, operating plans, and follow-through mechanisms.
  • Identify and surface cross-functional issues and risks impacting execution, with structured options and recommendations.
    Governance & Operating Model Excellence
  • Support IT governance structures that provide decision clarity, accountability, and execution discipline across PT SBG.
  • Enable fact-based executive decision-making through structured insights, analytics, and synthesized recommendations.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of the PT IT operating model, including ways of working, performance management, and talent alignment.


Qualifications

YOU MUST HAVE
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in IT program management, IT project management, or IT strategy roles
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience leading IT enablement activities in large transactions including acquisitions, separations, and joint ventures.
  • Experience influencing cross-functional teams at a global, multi-layered corporation or entity
  • Strong financial acumen and ability to translate actions to outcomes

The annual base salary range for this position in Illinois is $177,000 - $220,000. This position is incentive plan eligible. Please note that this salary information serves as a general guideline. Honeywell considers various factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to the scope and responsibilities of the position, the candidate's work experience, education and training, key skills, as well as market and business considerations.
