Full Job Description
The Opportunity:

The Director of IT Operations will lead enterprise IT operations, service delivery, and operational strategy as Revolution Medicines scales globally and prepares for commercialization. This leader will oversee enterprise platforms, infrastructure, and IT service management while driving operational excellence through automation, AI-enhanced operations, standardized processes, and resilient enterprise services.

Reporting to the Executive Director of IT, this role requires a strategic, hands-on leader capable of scaling global IT operations while building a high-performing team aligned to the company's next stage of growth.

IT Operations & Service Delivery
  • Lead global IT operations, including service desk, endpoint engineering and infrastructure, and enterprise application support.
  • Deliver reliable, scalable IT services aligned with company growth and international expansion initiatives.
  • Lead and mature IT service management practices, including ITSM and ITAM capabilities within ServiceNow.
  • Drive continuous improvement in employee experience through modern service delivery, self-service, automation, and AI-assisted support.

AI, Automation & Intelligent Operations
  • Define and execute a strategy for AI-enhanced IT Operations (AIOps) to improve service reliability, operational efficiency, and user experience.
  • Identify and implement GenAI and LLM-based solutions to enhance:
    • Service desk automation and virtual agent capabilities.
    • Incident triage and root cause analysis.
    • Knowledge management and documentation generation.
    • End-user self-service and operational workflows.
  • Partner with Security, Legal, and Data teams to establish governance, compliance, and safe usage frameworks for AI technologies.
  • Drive adoption of AI-assisted workflows across IT operations to reduce manual effort and improve scalability.
  • Evaluate and integrate AI capabilities within enterprise SaaS platforms and operational workflows.
  • Establish meaningful and measurable operational outcomes and ROI metrics for automation and AI initiatives.

Platform Infrastructure Ownership
  • Oversee cloud-first infrastructure, endpoint management, enterprise collaboration platforms, and storage environments across Microsoft and AWS ecosystems.

Identity Operations
  • Ensure secure identity lifecycle management aligned with Entra ID and automated provisioning strategies.
  • Partner with Security to enforce Zero Trust architecture leveraging Zscaler and modern network controls.
  • Assure and drive compliance with regulatory requirements (SOX, GxP).

Asset, Vendor & Financial Management
  • Develop and manage the annual IT Operations budget to ensure alignment with enterprise and IT strategic objectives.
  • Own software and hardware asset management, licensing, and vendor relationships, with a focus on cost optimization and governance.
  • Improve visibility into SaaS utilization, forecasting, lifecycle management, and operational spend.
  • Ensure technology investments-including AI platforms-align with business value and ROI.

Team Leadership & Development
  • Build and lead a high-performing global IT operations team through mentorship, clear accountability, talent development, and a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Develop team capabilities in automation and modern IT operational practices.

Business Partnership & Strategy
  • Partner with business stakeholders, Security, HR, Engineering, and regional IT leadership to deliver integrated technology solutions aligned to corporate growth, digital transformation, and operational scalability.

Required Skills, Experience and Education:
  • 15+ years of progressive IT experience, including 5+ years in IT Operations, Infrastructure, or Service Delivery leadership roles within a medium-to-large enterprise environment.
  • Proven experience leading and scaling IT operations in a fast-growing, global organization.
  • Strong experience managing SaaS-first and cloud-centric environments, including Microsoft 365, Entra ID / Azure AD, ServiceNow, Intune, JAMF, Azure, and AWS platforms.
  • Experience with identity and access management, endpoint management, ITSM/ITAM, automation, and enterprise operational governance.
  • Experience implementing AI-enabled operational capabilities and familiarity with GenAI technologies and LLMs.
  • Experience leveraging automation, APIs, scripting, and AI-driven solutions to improve operational efficiency and scalability.
  • Proven experience leading high-performing technical teams and driving operational excellence through metrics, SLAs, and continuous improvement.
  • Strong business partnership, communication, and vendor management skills with the ability to align IT operations to business priorities and growth objectives.
  • Bachelor's degree in information technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.

Preferred Skills:
  • Experience working in the Life Sciences industry and regulated IT environments.
  • ITIL certification or equivalent service management expertise.
  • Strong understanding of modern infrastructure, networking, Zero Trust security concepts, and operational resiliency practices.
  • Specific experience with Microsoft Copilot, ChatGPT Enterprise, ServiceNow AI capabilities, or similar enterprise AI platforms.
