Job Summary

Real Chemistry is looking for a Director, Social Media Insights to join our growing team!

The Director, Social Intelligence and Insights role is primarily responsible for leading large scale social media listening and audience analytics engagements with a set of Real Chemistry's top clients. This individual will work within the Integrated Intelligence team and be a business lead, team builder, and client relationship partner responsible for ensuring efficient delivery and customer experience that meets their goals and moves their business forward.

The successful candidate must collaborate effectively with other team members, have the ability to build and maintain client relationships, and consistently demonstrate analytical and interpretive skills with proficiency in uncovering insights from data. A minimum of 8 years of experience in marketing/communications analytics and insights setting preferred.

This is a hybrid role, based in any of our US offices-including New York City, Boston, Chicago, Carmel, Lambertville, Wilmington, or San Francisco-or remotely within the US, depending on team and business needs.

Who'll Love This Job:
  • You're a client whisperer - you see between the lines and understand the needs of clients before they do. You can engage in conversations with senior clients that help drive their business strategy.
  • You're a doer - who sees issues related to projects, process, and people and solves them requiring minimal oversight to do your best work
  • You're flexible - knowing when to lean into things to keep things moving
  • You're a phenomenal teammate - your team members learn from and grow with you and you build team cohesion through transparency, authenticity, and a passion for encouraging others.

What You'll Do:
  • Be the lead on groundbreaking social media intelligence and insights projects, there to strategically guide the team on method, approach, dataset, and client relations
  • Be a core member within an integrated agency team, with members from all functions across the Real Chemistry agency network
  • Track and stay involved in the execution of projects/results, including guiding team members on how to turn data into insights, crafting strategic recommendations, and delivering the insights to our client
  • Get "in the weeds" with the project team on larger, sophisticated projects, ensuring nuances in the data are being represented and commanding a solid understanding of the insights when presented to clients
  • Help lead a large book of Integrated Intelligence business in a financially prudent and proactive manner, advancing potential risks and challenges to Senior Leaders as appropriate
  • Organically grow existing client business into new engagements or secure renewals; identify new revenue opportunities and develop proposals in partnership with Senior Leaders
  • Exhibit leadership within team, by instilling a culture of cohesion, collaboration, learning, development, and passion towards the work we do
  • Make research and insights happen: Find operational efficiencies and drive them forward. Collaborate with your team members so that projects get done well and right: on time, on budget and on strategy for the client
  • Maintain and strengthen client relationships through our collective team greatness. Become a trusted advisor to clients by understanding their big picture strategy and day to day needs.

What You Should Have:
  • 8+ years of experience with majority in at least one of the following areas: healthcare/pharmaceutical marketing/PR/advertising, strategic planning, digital/social strategy, digital/social analytics, social listening, primary/syndicated research, or account management. Agency experience strongly preferred, due to specific, expected client mix for this role.
  • 2+ years of project management experience, including handling timelines, budgets, and expectations for multiple deliverables.
  • Deep understanding and experience with social media listening and measurement, and comfort working with data from Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube, Instagram, Reddit, and TikTok, including familiarity with platforms such as Brandwatch, Quid, Meltwater or Muck Rack.
  • Experience using generative AI tools such as ChatGPT, Gemini, and Copilot.
  • Experience with multi-modal research approaches, using novel data sets and triangulating across methodologies to deliver impact
  • High understanding and passion for the pharma/healthcare/life sciences sector
  • A passion for telling stories motivated by data and insights, bringing creativity to analytics, and merging art and science, qual and quant.
  • Proven track record to drive a team to develop high quality work in a variety of client situations, setting the standard for delivering value and making a positive impact on our clients and their customers.
  • Comfort with ambiguity and a hunger to be the best. Willingness to roll up your sleeves and tackle problems.

Working with Real HART: Since the pandemic, we have adapted to how our people told us they want to work. We have office locations in cities in the US, UK, and Europe with many employees and clients that serve as hubs where and when they need us. For employees who are within an hour of one of our offices, we expect attendance in the office two days per week, either at a Real Chemistry office or onsite with clients. We are also actively opening new office locations, so if one opens near you, our Real HART policy will apply. We are not looking for attendance for the sake of attendance but believe that the opportunity to coordinate in-office team meetings, 1:1 meetings with managers, taking advantage of on-site learning, and connecting with client partners is a critical to delivering on our purpose of making healthcare what it should be. Outside of these offices, we have regions, where people work remotely but come together quarterly for collaboration, culture and learning opportunities. We call this our Real Hybrid and Regional Teams (Real HART) approach. Real Chemistry believes we are best together - and our workplace strategy fosters connection and collaboration in person - but also supports flexibility for our people.
