The Group Purchasing Organization (GPO) is looking for an experienced, curious and self-motivated individual who will be responsible for developing and managing relationships with pharmaceutical manufacturers in order to negotiate rebate discounts in exchange for formulary access to all UHG enterprise-wide books of business. The successful candidate will report to the VP of Industry Relations. We are looking for people who can collaborate cross-functionally with various business, finance, operations and clinical teams, demonstrate exceptional attention to detail, lead and develop a team (if required), and the ability to manage multiple competing business projects at one time

Primary Responsibilities:- Navigation of the US healthcare market with respect to pharmacy and medical benefit design and operations
- Leading and development of an Industry Relations Business team (if applicable)
- Financial modeling analytics for rebate optimization and lowest net cost strategy assessment of pharmaceutical products
- Clinical knowledge of multiple therapeutic categories for manufacturer assignments (e.g. CV, Diabetes, Respiratory disease)
- An understanding, knowledge and application of established clinical guidelines determined by GPO Members' P&T Committees
- Coordination of the redlining process as well as communications and negotiations of contractual terms and conditions in tandem with internal stakeholders (leadership, legal, clinical, contracting)
- Execute contract negotiations and interactions with pharmaceutical manufacturers that are in compliance with UHG corporate policies, directives, business goals and objectives
- Coordination with multiple internal and external teams, including Analytics, Modelling and Product and Services
- Manage regular reports and updates for the leadership team reflecting business performance and priorities
- Act as a strategic thought leader to solve unique and complex problems with broad impact on the business

Required Qualifications:- Experience in contract negotiations, strategy development and contract redlining experience

- Understanding of competitive landscape and familiarity with pharmaceuticals or healthcare industry
- Proven ability to work well and collaboratively with multiple teams or departments for business growth or profitability goals
- Ability to speak clearly and concisely, conveying complex or technical information in a manner that others can understand, as well as ability to understand and interpret complex information
Preferred Qualification:- Experience in managed health care or pharmacy benefit management
- Proven excellent verbal and written communication skills

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). The salary for this role will range from $134,600 - $230,800 annually based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
