Director HR Systems & Payroll
The Director, HR Systems & Payroll is accountable for optimizing the employee experience through the effective management of Workday and the broader HR technology ecosystem, including system capabilities, upgrades, security, data integrity, integrations, leveraging AI, and alignment with enterprise technology strategy. The role also oversees the accurate, compliant, secure, and timely delivery of payroll services while advancing HR reporting, metrics, analytics, and benchmarking to support data-driven decision-making and organizational objectives.
YOUR ROLE IN THE GAME
Reporting to the SVP People & Culture, you will be empowered to:
HR Systems & Reporting
Lead and evolve the HR technology strategy and roadmap, including Workday/HCMS and related HR systems, ensuring alignment with enterprise priorities and technology strategy, as well as budget requirements.
Partner with stakeholders to prioritize and deliver HR systems enhancements, configurations, and process improvements that support business objectives and operational effectiveness.
Manage vendor relationships and oversee HR systems governance, data integrity, security, compliance, reporting, and audit requirements, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of all obligations.
Drive HR analytics, metrics, benchmarking, and external reporting to support evidence-based decision-making and regulatory requirements.
Foster a culture of continuous improvement through leveraging AI and Agile methodologies, stakeholder feedback, process optimization, and the maintenance of comprehensive HR systems documentation.
Provide leadership and oversight for HR systems operations, including budgeting, forecasting, workforce planning, risk mitigation, business continuity, team capability development, and cross-functional collaboration with Compliance and Privacy teams.
Payroll Operations
Provide strategic leadership for end-to-end payroll operations, ensuring accurate and timely employee pay, statutory remittances, pension and benefits administration, account reconciliations, audit support, and effective segregation of duties.
Establish and maintain a strong payroll governance and compliance framework by overseeing risk management, audit processes, team capability development, and adherence to all legislative, regulatory, and organizational requirements.
Oversee the integrity, security, retention, and governance of employee data, while ensuring standardized payroll documentation, process consistency, knowledge transfer, and operational excellence.
People Leadership
Foster an inclusive, high-performing team culture aligned with OLG's Truths, where employees feel challenged, supported, safe, engaged, and empowered to innovate and achieve individual and organizational goals.
Set clear expectations and provide ongoing coaching, feedback, development, and performance management to ensure team members are equipped to succeed.

WHAT YOU BRING TO THE GAME
Education & Experience:
University degree inInformation Technology,Data/Business Analytics,Human Resources, Business Management, Accounting orarelated field.Post-Graduate/Mastersdegree ina relevantfieldisan asset.Certificate in Payroll preferred.Knowledge of applicable legislationis a strong asset.
10+ years ofprogressively responsibleexperienceworking with and managing a human capital management system, ideally Workday
Relevant Skills:
Build and manage strategic partnerships with EIT, Finance, ELT, P&C leadership, vendors (including Workday), and external consultants to drive HR systems enhancements, integrations, payroll and budget alignment, HR dashboard reporting, and the prioritization of People & Culture technology initiatives.
Strong strategic, critical thinking, analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with proven expertise in HR technology, analytics, leveraging AI, Agile and project management methodologies, stakeholder relationship management, influencing and negotiation, sound decision-making, and building and leading high-performing teams.
